Comes out at the top of Hayes Hill on 199

Or you can come out on River Banks Rd by taking Onion Mtn/Shan Creek

Another road will take you too Chrome Ridge and eventually Bear Camp

Quartz hooks up with Hog Creek. You can come out at Galice Rd or Lower Grave Crk

Anybody watch the Kati Kim story on 20/20 last night? Probably a re-run, but I hadn't seen it.

I had forgotten how little snow there was when they were found. The news really played up the gate thing, but in 20 years of working in that area I don't ever remember the main gate being locked to my public lands out there. Going up the hill towards Gold Beach the gate would get locked, but not the main road to Way Out Saddle.

I thought that a goofy GPS was a factor in the story, but they left that part out?

GPS routing showed that to be a best route for getting to the coast. As far as I know it did for at least a couple/few years after if it doesn’t still to this day. Obviously GPS doesn’t take into account weather conditions, and the end-user needs to be responsible for knowing more about their route(s) than just what a GPS shows to be the best. It wasn’t a goofy GPS, it was and maybe still is a standard route that wasn’t well understood by the family.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Well yes, the user needs to be smarter than the GPS.
