What in the hell happened?? Chopper dudes used to ride old honda cb750s, triumphs and harleys that they built in their garage/front room with blood sweat and beer. They RODE hard and fast and never washed the bikes. Now, they are a bunch of non-building lames that average 1000 miles a year. WTF???!!!!

It is an amalgamation of machismo cultural symbolism commodified by corporate omnipotence.

That's what the fuck it is.

Is that yours? Using the Comstar wheels is an excellent touch.

My buddies build. We agreed the comstars had to stay. I've got a alotta love for mag wheels.

she ran this week, (then seized, then ran again)

another buddies Tronda (1/2 64 triumph 1/2 honda cb 550) fired up tonight, should be road worthy after a carb battle tomorrow.

Jazzmans, the more I look at that photo the more subtle detail appears. The neck of the beer bottle matched with the long springer front end, gold metalflake helmet, padlock for the steering head and what appears to be an open belt primary drive is a nice still life.

Not referring to homebuild choppertown guys, of course. Respect. People buy OCC stuff in K-mart.

    Now that is cool.

I stopped in to the local "custom" chopper shop. I asked about them fabbing a mount for something for a supermoto I had a while back. The sales staff looked at me like I asked them to suck my dick. Then they sent me to the "shop". I roll out to the shop and asked the same thing. The "shop" guy said "well, we don't MAKE anything. We just buy the parts and assemble them".

So much for custom. Now, we do have a couple straight up biker places that build stuff. But they don't service the average idiot that wants Khakis M-F and a chopper on the weekend. I hate the new chopper craze. Seems a lot of guys found the standard HD isn't cool enough for him, he needs a 200+mm rear tire. UGH.
