Does anyone know anything about the BIg bore kits for the 690? Char on SM junkie did a big bore mod to his 690sm using a stock comp JE piston. I'm interested in finding out more info. Wasn't it 692cc?

Char got his stuff here. The piston was a JE from Engine Dynamics.

Those are good numbers. Crankshaft what year is this bike, 2012 with an actual 690 cc or earlier with 654 cc?

AFR is 13 across the board and I'm running it in open loop for now to make sure the fueling is good. Don't forget, 61 was with the insert still in the exhaust.

You are not paying any of that shit for a shipment under $1000, at least not if it's mailed.

€220 is $285, shipping should be about $30 or so. I'd definitely prefer a proven piston designed by Emil Grossewächter (he is good and has a lot of experience with 690s) and manufactured by CP over a JE experiment....

Thanks for the info Lukas, I agree. That price isn't bad actually and I tend to get stuff from Europe faster than I do from California:lol3

I had my bike on the bench with new TKC 80 on the rear. Just for fun basically.
    Mods: Only acra + insert.

Background is that I ran out of gas a few days before and had a filthy injector that made the bike jerky.

I had the same trouble on my '11. I caught it a little earlier than yours. Toward the end my bearing had 3-4mm play!

I'd doubt there is any damage down below - it doesn't look like your bearing fell apart. I'd dump the oil & inspect for metallic bits. I'd then flush it a few times & ride it.

No prob. If you do order something make sure they ship DHL (they handle the German Postal service for parcels), this will cost a fraction of the other options and should get delivered by USPS in the States so there won't be any brokerage fees or other BS charges.

I can translate to ze Germans if needed.
