Is anyone planning to camp at the bivouac? It's such a drama trying to book a hotel with bank transfers or filling out forms (I'm not putting my credit card details on a form and sending it anywhere, forget that) that I wonder if it's practical or sensible to just bed down with the trucks and bikes.
Your details are confidential and will be used only for your hotel booking. Transferring money to the race account is also safe and it will be done no matter what for your entry fee these days. There is a very limited free camping space with showers and toilets, but it will will be full on a first come first serve basis. The rooms close to bivouac are closing fast.
Yes, me too. I will sleep into the wan. The only concern I have is on space availability , I will arrive on April 20th, just in time for techical inspection . I know is a risk to arrive so late, but at the moment this is the only option I have. I haven't issue the ticket, just to see if I can anticipate my departure date. X.
Which hotel brod? And how near the bivuoac is it? The travel agent for the rally is just not getting back to me at all, it's poor actually.
I booked here Not a 5 star, but who cares? I mean 240 for 8 nights means 30 euros for a double room per night, breakfast included. Dirt cheap. One room left! I think Hotel Niki should be about 200m (3 or 4 blocks) from the bivouac, I can attach a map if you want. I will be bringing my bivvy scooter for any hectic last minute dashes to & from the room (in Serres I forgot my body armour one morning, but that was a breeze as the bivvy was on the hotel grounds ... typical me, I need about 3 coffees in the morning) According to the Orga site, the bivvy should be on the red dot I placed on the map
Cheers Brod. Doing it the orga way is just too much hassle, printing forms, filling them in, scanning and sending back, it's not the way forward. Anyway we're booked in the afroditi which is just the other side, also using booking.com
Hi Brod, who take care of your racing bike and its stuff in the paddock? You must have somekind of support/help into the paddock. X.
Official support companies so far : 1. Memo tours from Holland http://www.memotours.com/ 2. EAO Holland - Belgium http://www.eaob.eu/index.php/en/ 3. Desert Rose Racing http://www.desertroseracing.com/ 4. Torque Racing http://www.torqueracing.net/ 5. Energia e Sorissi http://www.energiaesorrisi.it/ 6. LaPorte Du Desert http://laportedudesert.it/
NO those are the teams that offered a proffessional support package officially so far. It is not obligatory to be with a team, but if someone wants support package for these teams we know their value and expertise
Ok, thanks, I am probably coming with a new team called Hellas Adventure Legends (you probably know him, Alexandros Sougiannis), they offered me an amazing deal to transport the bike from Athens & back, plus a basic mechanical support package during the race (you know, filters, oil, RB changes etc) Looking forward to racing a multi-day again, good luck to your team with road book checking
Thank you for the wishes, road book check is done, luck is not an option anymore, Your service team is called Hellas Adventure Legends and Alex is actually racing with a quad.
Yeah, I spoke to him, he chewed my ass off for getting the team's name wrong I have a few questions, whenever you've got the time... The graphic above says that "Routes and Tracks information are subject of change on the 15th of February". I guess since you have already checked the roadbook, they are the final Routes? If not, no problem. What I don't get with this funky graphic is: a) The format of the long days. For example, Day 2, I can see 132kms of Liaisons and 245kms for Specials. Then I have refueling points, I assume with distances between them? (RF1 22km, RF2 144km, RF3 78km). So, cumulatively, the Refueling Points for the 377km Day 2 fall at: RF1: 22kms RF2: 166kms (RF1 +RF2) RF3: 244kms (RF1 + RF2 + RF3) with another 133kms to finish the 377km long day. Am I correct or fucking up the maths? b) Is it possible to have the daily routes as (for example): Day 2: L1: 50kms SS1: 100kms L2: 50kms SS2: 145kms L3: 32kms So that (as above), L1 + L2 + L3 = 132kms, and SS1 + SS2 = 245kms. That would be a great help to figure out where the Refuelling points fall in the liaisons. Thanks in advance, no rush.
I thought ACU already informed you, you have authorization to race with your ACU license and ACU will issue starting permissions. ACU contacted our federation and issue is clear.
