It depends on what kind of race junky you are.

Are you already up at 0'dark thirty for every race and superpole watching a sketchy, blurry, 3x5" screen with a feed that might or might not be in english?

I'm the guy that's up at 4:00 am watching in Italian, because that's the only stream I can find (I admit that accessibility to English language coverage has improved greatly in the last couple years). I appreciate being able to have a guaranteed relatively hi-res source, so for me it's a no-brainer.

Thanks for that, Mike...bookmarked. I can't afford both the MotoGP video pass and SBK, so seeing the SBK races delayed will have to suffice!

Sad news, Sylvain Barrier has been involved in a car accident in France.
http://www.gpone.com/en/201403181297...n-Barrier.html
He was recovered in hospital in a coma, apparently he is now reported to be out of danger.
Allez, Sylvain!

Just to let everyone know @BarrierSylvain has come out of his coma but is still in ITU. Fingers crossed! Thanks for everyone's thoughts.

Man!

Get Well Soon. One of my favourite racers. Always considered him to be one of the future champions.

Interesting update on the EBR WSBK and AMA teams from the man himself.

At the AMA race at Daytona, Larry Pegram's new EBR was mysteriously way down on speed compared to the other bike ridden by Cory West. It was later found that Pegram's team had added an extra quart of oil to the crankcase thinking that was good insurance for Daytona's high speeds. This post was made by Erik to a road racing group at LinkedIn regarding when someone asked if there had been similar problems at Philip Island. Here's what Erik had to say on the subject:

Quote:
Actually it is exactly a chunk of why the WSBK were down on speed. Not that getting this power back will get us all the way there, but it will help. Cory's bikes which did not have the extra oil were 11MPH faster than Larry's bikes with no draft, and Larry's bike was so off he couldn't even draft. So speed differences got as high as 17mph. The extra oil was something that came out of discussions between new mechanics on both sides of the pond who did not have experience with the bikes. It is typical to run Ducati's with extra oil, and on them you can tell when the limit is reached as it blows any extra out the breather. The 1190 does not blow the oil out, it just slows down. Cory's crew chief has been around the bikes for years and did not add the oil.
It'll be very interesting to see how much difference this makes at the next race.

Moscow round of WSBK canceled for 2014 due to "current political situation". Expected to resume in 2015.
