I was kinda neglecting the thread, looking forward to this race and Watkins Glen, Then I got on the computer last night and my news feed gave me the results before I could watch!

Sitting here watching the race at Daytona and my sister in law who is visiting says "Is this what Carl Edwards races in?". I said yes, and she says "He kissed me on the school bus once. He had a huge crush on me. I still have a love letter he wrote me once. He signed it Carl, with a heart over it."

I have begged her and she says that the next time she goes home to her moms house in Kansas she will email me a copy of the letter. For some reason I am totally amused by this.

She said she had no idea he was a Nascar racer until she saw a picture of him on TV. She thought "He looks like a guy I went to grade school with" and then his name went up on the TV.

I didn't necessarily believe her so I asked her where she grew up as I Wiki'd Carl on my Ipad and sure enough they both grew up in Columbia, MO.

I always liked the story of how he bugged the shit out of the race teams until they gave him a chance. True? Dunno, but it's a cool story.
