    So, I was just typing in "advrider.com" on this here PC machine, fully intending to move the curser right over the "Forum" button as usually. That's when the picture (current rotation) caught my attention. It was of a guy riding his scooter in some very cool looking bentonite clay hills that I just know can't be more than a few hours from here, Grand Junction. Then I saw one of riders on a muddy track through sagebrush country and I thought that it looked like just up the road from here too. Then a picture of a bike on highway 128 along the Colorado river near Moab, followed by some pics of riders up in the San Juans.

    Point is this: Damn! I live one of the coolest places on earth and people come from all over the globe to see it and ride in it.

    That's all I've got.

    As and avid rider, mountain biker, hiker/backpacker, snowshoe, and xc skier, I believe that I have found paradise. I try and get out every day to take advantage of the trails and natural beauty. Well, at least as much as my broken body allows me to.

    Ah yes. Sometimes with all the work and commitments, I forget why I moved here 20 some years ago. Thanks for the reminder, Uli!:freaky

    Folks come from all over the world to see the stuff we see and feel daily, but if it's tourist season, why can't we shoot 'em?

    To highlight it, I have two around-the-world bikers from Finnland staying with me for a little while right now. They just completed nice loop though our state as well as eastern parts of Utah and loved it. Come from Finnland to visit what WE have every weekend.

    Sigh ....

    PS: Thanks for the pictures so far.

    I live in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Many a time I've said "if I ever DO NOT stop to take in the view, just shoot me! I don't deserve to live here!" So far, I keep stopping, looking, breathing in the mountain air, and saying lots of prayers of gratitude for this amazing life I live!

    Uli - the big problem with this area is the grumpy, old farts that live here!

    I keep thinking I may pull up stakes and move out there. I've ridden there a few times. It was my honeymoon destination back in 03 on my first road bike and first long road trip. Ended up riding all the way to Vegas before running out of time. Been hooked ever since.

    Amen to all of the above. Fled the cornfields as soon as I could and have lived a lifetime in Paradise. Came here on a motorcycle and it is a pleasure to still ride and live with peers, who love the mountains too. Thanks for reminding us, Uli.

    many of we flatlanders envy you folks;
    dreams of the high country have nursed me thru many a hot summer in tejas.
    have often wondered if you could ever become jaded about such beauty.....
