The much rumored V4 has been confirmed at the TT by a senior Honda exec. Quoted in the UK's National Enquirer rival MCN the exec says that it won't be a replacement for the VFR or Blackbird, but something new. Also confirms that it'll just be the first of many V4 based machines to be released.
No details of said bike have been confirmed other than it'll be seen sometime in Autumn and for sale Spring 2010.
MCN speculate it'll be a 1200cc rival for BMW's K1300S. Makes sense as it's a good seller and a brilliant bike to ride.
Honda UK recently announced they will not be at the NEC show in November, so i guess it'll get it's unveiling at Milan the same month.
    New bikes from Honda.
    Not before time.

    Lemme guess,

The version sold in the United States will have a bunch of plastic bits hanging off it.... won't even be able to see the engine. And a clean naked 'standard' version will be available for purchase elsewhere.....

Yup. How many times have i got excited by the prospect of a "new" V4, only to find out that Hondas' interpretation of new only extends to painted wheels.

I dunno, the rumor doesn't feel right. Honda has the VFR and the ST1300. In the face of a collapsing bike market they are going to cram another model in between these two? I just don't see the business sense. And I doubt it would be a standard with all of Honda's history with the CB line.

It would make more sense for the new V4 bike to be a VFR replacement.

Pick another dying segment in motorcycle sales, add a V4 engine to that type of bike, and that is what Honda will sell alongside the Fury.

Lets get real. We need Honda to come out with a jet engine on a bike so we all can go out in style.

Source? I'll point out that even the press reported that a high-ranking Honda rep said the new CB1100F was a definite go 18-months ago.... and there has been absolutely nothing since.

Honestly if honda wants us to believe something I think it would be wise for them to leak a picture otherwise they are just blowing ssmoke again.

Cool! Maybe they'll build it with the best of both bikes: hamstring it with VTEC, mandatory linked brakes, and dump all the heat on the rider's legs! Available in silver only.

... AND in the second year they'll add candy glory red and raise the price by $2000. ABS will only be available with the airbag package.
