What kind of Side Cases are those? How did you mount them up? Looks nice and useful too...

The cases are pelican copies available from my local hardware shop for $40ea.
Made brackets that use the shock, and footpeg mounts and the threaded holes under the seat that are used for the Triumph accessory rack. Thought I may need an extra support between the two cases but they seem pretty sturdy as they are.

Sweet, thanks for the pics too... That setup looks really nice and not too expensive/difficult to fab up... Thanks again for sharing it...

Anyone else out there specifically with an SE that tours? I'm thinking about going from the stock 330mm rear shocks to the Thruxton length 360mm shocks and also popping on a Thruxton gel seat... Just curious what others have done with the SE as I bought it because I prefer 17" tubeless rims (I come from more of a sporting/sportbike background, otherwise I actually prefer the aesthetics of the wire wheel bonnies) and not because I wanted a low seat height... So raising it back up would actually improve the comfort for me... Just curious if anyone else bought the SE for the same reason and went about increasing the rear ride height and a more comfortable seating solution?

My wife and I (2 up) just finished a loop highlighted by a stop at the Grand Canyon on my 2014 T100. I have zero complaints regarding the bike.

    here is my 2010 se.
i have some soft bags that were on sale for $50 and some brackets off ebay.
it has a scrambler gel seat and id comfy for about 2 hours.
shocks have been changed to hagons and progressive springs in front with 10w oil.
i went up 1 tooth on the front sprocket and have a 140 mounted on the rear.
the combination lowers the rpm's some.
i also have a fly screen that i put on for longer trips but around town i like the extra wind.

    No problem ?
I guess, if you don't count rebuilding the top end multiple times during the course of the trip. Maybe it's time to reread the book.
    And Ted's bike wasn't a Bonnie ,it was a 500.

Typical forum. People just seeking out things they don't like so they can trash talk.

Ride what ya like. I've got 20,000 touring miles on my T100. It took me from Kansas to Virginia, Virginia to Quebec City, then to Texas. I'm planning on a 3000 mile loop in search of the best BBQ joints in the Midwest that will all be done on the Bonnie.

I have crashed it twice, once on ice in the middle of winter, once when a dipshit ran a redlight and T-boned me, but the bike keeps on chugging.

Devin, do you know the name of your screen or could you identify it from the Givi website (http://www.giviusa.com/givi-products/windshields)?

I know there are a million opinions about windscreens but I want to replace my Dart flyscreen for longer trips and a couple people have mentioned Givis to me. There isn't a Givi specifically designated for the Bonnie, though, so I'm curious which universal-fit one you found helpful.

I'm 5' 8" and wear a full Arai helmet, and the Dart is good for short trips but I need more protection for longer jaunts. TIA for any help, or if anybody has any other thoughts I'm all (windblown) ears! :-)

I wanted to update my post because I can now share some info that might be helpful for other Bonnie riders. After much trial and error, I have found Windscreen Nirvana (at least for me)! I bought a Rifle SoloShield X, a quality, multi-adjustable screen which adjusts for height, angle and even position of the screen on its supports. It easily attaches, by a single strong support arm, to the center of the handlebar. This Rifle screen was quite good, but then I added the Wunderlich Wind Deflector. The Wunderlich took about 5 minutes to install and made a HUGE difference. Between the screen and deflector I now get a very smooth and quiet flow of air just where I want it, and both screen and deflector can be adjusted as preferences or conditions change. If you are near my size (see above) and are struggling to find wind protection that works for you, IMO it's definitely worth adding this combo to the short list of possible solutions.

    Sounds excellent, enjoy every minute!

I am planning a long weekend trip and feel lucky to get that. I always start the season with grand plans then end up cramming in multiple short-ish runs as the cold weather looms.

Had a great 300-mile day trip a couple of weekends ago that included roughly equal parts local streets, rural roads and interstate; whoever says Bonnevilles are not capable tourers has probably never ridden one. :-)

I'm joining this club, though I'm doing more of an adventure touring thing.

So far I have a 2006 T100 with airbox delete and slipons.
I have an assortment of soft luggage that lets me pack whatever I want.

For the adventure side, I have the following:
    -Kenda K761s
-Triumph skidplate with homemade extension to protect the oil filter.
