That's why I was asking. Thanks!

Unfortunately, my budget may take me back to a used KLR. If that.

The ravens must be collectors' items already. There are zero to be found.

These bikes are so bulletproof. There have been no changes since introduction, besides BNG. Why not save several thousand and get a gently used one?

Yes, that $13,800 includes tax, title and license, which go to the state, so selling price to the dealer must be in the mid $12's.

Maybe I should switch to pine and bury the old springs in them. Or else oak may have to go on the mantle or above the fire place…open casket.

Cruise control is a big incentive. And I've always liked the white/red.

I was perfectly happy with the 2004 FJR until a nearby kid had a 2007 that he couldn't make payments on. I just had to get him off the hook with the bank and became the owner of a nearly new 2007.

My 2012 Tenere has 30-some thou on the odometer and will soldier on reliably. But if I come across a similar smoking deal on a Tenere with cruise, I'm going to be all over it.

In March the NA dealers will be informed of price and product content for NA bikes. Any mention of a date for when they will be available is just a guess.

Began mocking up the radiator scoop. More of a stop than a scoop. Not an aero or fluid dynamics major but I think this will do the job.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Are you doing this because of reduced gas mileage during cold temperatures?

If I remember right an uninsured deer hit has him rethinking the front end.

I just did a couple more 550 mile days and must say the Super Tenere is definitely getting the job done - all while keeping me comfortable and relaxed.
It has a sweet spot at about 84 mph in top gear on the interstate where the motor feels particularly good. The long travel suspension is doing a lot to protect me from the jarring pavement of the rough county roads - which have 70 mph speed limits. I arrive at my destination after 550 miles feeling like I could do a couple hundred more. I am much more willing and excited to cover long distances than I was on the 2011 Ninja 1000, which I traded in for the Super Tenere. The stock seat is pretty good too! Especially when supplemented with a sheepskin. In the long run, I will replace it with a Sargent - but no rush.

Yeah, I had an intimate encounter with a deer a few months ago.

Here's the aluminum version. Not bad for firing-from-the-hip

Only downfall is the scoop occupies only 3/4 of the radiator's surface. I don't think that'll be too bad.

I also picked up a new radiator fan a while back. This is a 9" but I think I'm gonna opt for an 8". Good thing these fans are cheap. 9" cost $30 and the 8" is $25. I don't think a shroud will be necessary.

Windscreen stayed intact but not so much for the bracket. I had some Hella 550FF's lying around that I intended to mount to the bike but looks like they're going to become my driving lamps.

Nah. I was thinking of upgrading the bulbs to a Xenon kit down the road. These 550FFs are spot beams so I need a flood/fog beam. I'm gonna light-farkle the bike since I'm in a position to do so :D

Plus, it'll help me see deer at night :lol3

My local dealer has a new white one and a used raven model with only 4000 miles on it. It's setup very nice too, TKC's, altrider skid plate, crash bars, and luggage rack.
