Yes. The sandwiches are unreal. They close at 7pm, though. Highly recommend.

It will make me sad to see her go, but I have moved beyond needing one of these things in my life. By spring time, I hope to replace her with another. She cannot be replaced, but my new girl will be lighter, faster, and considerably more nimble. This is the beginning of the end.

While I'm not in the market for a Bandit..............

As some of you know I didn't make it home Wednesday night after dinner, I collided with a left-hand-turning/failure-to-yied West Ashley resident on Hwy 61:

    At the ER:

Compound fracture of tibia and bruised up left leg. Now a proud owner of a hi-tech titanium rod holding my tibia and lower leg together.

I got a lot of help at the scene and at the hospital. Off duty Nurse and Paramedic beat the Charleston PD and St. Andrews Fire Department response (not by much) and all were a great help in keeping me going, and saving my jacket from the knife.

All were impressed with my full face helmet, gloves and jacket that saved me from greater injury (commented on at the scene, in the Ambulance and at the ER).

The Emergency Card in my jacket really helped at the scene.

Many thanks to Kalonji for showing up at the scene and organizing the bike and the visits at the hospital (and Boxcar Betty's!)

Thanks Draechon and John for the visit as well.

Still have the Versys and hope to be riding again in the near future!

Glad it wasn't any worse, a2ronm! I was sporting my first-ever pair of Levi's on my 13th birthday when I broke a tibia in a horseback riding accident. Someone Cut. Off. My. Levi's. that day, how dare them?

Be glad you have the rod. My leg got a full-length cast slapped on it, and is about a half-inch shorter than the other leg.

Sometimes. I'll be flying solo for the next dinner so I can pretty much do whatever I want as long as I'm off work by then.

Cast, stitches/staples were removed today and I start standing/walking physical therapy next week. The optimistic timeline is walking with a cane by 01/16 and full mobility by end of Jan.

Ankle is still swollen and abused so much that I can't put weight on it but the broken bones are pinned at full strength:

The real pics are in the album if you are so inclined- I'll have some good scares to remind me of the crash through the future.

Sold the bike to the insurance company today-I'll start looking seriously for a replacement when I'm 100%.

    Thanks for the well wishes!

Glad you're healing up OK. Man, that could have easily been me if I'd made it to the dinner.

Anyone from CHS thinking about the Broxton Bridge? I'm planning to run Saturday (fly to Vegas early Monday for work) and deciding if I should head over Friday night or make an early morning run.

I'm interested in it, as long as I can find a decent DR before it!

does anybody know of any inmates with a KTM 640 adventure that are around the Charleston area?

Would really like to see one in person to dismiss it, or drink the orange koolaid.

OT #2, anyone interested in riding the Wambaw Trail this week? Figure a little later departure, early lunch on the way, back by dinner? I'm free all week.
