Anybody up for doing a weekday ride up FS17 until we hit snow. I think it should be melting pretty fast. Maybe some day in the next two weeks. :ear

  2. Your probably going to hit snow about 2200' or so. I was out there a week ago and thats where the snow seemed to be hanging around in the shade. I am riding in between the weather breaks, but w have been confined to lower rds and such. Have a great ride.

    Tommy,
How far up the road, mileage wise, would you wag the snow at? Thanks!

What are we riding? My 800 desperately needs a new tyre before I ride it again, the Husaberg's fork seal is leaking, and the other BMW has a sidecar attached to it. Or should I steal Sunny's DRZ ...?

If I didn't have a shiny new hip implant I would join you. That makes 3 riding partner's from the Muk. I also have an 800GS and ride with Pete.

I am a couple of months out from getting back on the bike but when I do watch out for the bionic man.

Was up on 17 last Sunday from the Finney-Cumberland Creek side. Its a short ride to the snow. About a mile past the logging. Heading up Iron Mtn its not much further than that past the logging. The road is pretty chewed up at the logging area. Looks like they still have a lot of downed trees and stacked logs yet to yard out. Signs are still up about weekday logging and road closure on Rd to Iron Mtn.

I can do Wednesday and would probably be on my XR650 with a pretty worn tire, as the Christini is in mid seat rebuild. Maybe we should go from the FS 18 or Lake Cavanaugh side?

Hmm, I need to check in more often. I can't ride weekdays much, but keep me in the loop when leaving Muk - I'll try to make it!

    How was the ride???

WW and I had a fun ride yesterday. We went up whatever that mtn is called across Lake Cavanaugh Rd from Walker, Green mtn? It's off Finn Settlement/Granstrom Rd. Then we went to Walker, since he had never been. We did some fire roads and then up some pretty gnarly 4x4 trails, but since I was on a virtually bald Goodyear dirt track rear tire, we were a bit limited. Hopefully WW will post some pics, as I forgot to take any. What a beautiful day! :D

I can post a pic, as that is all I took! It was a most excellent day out, got to make the most of this weather while it lasts ... Unfortunately, we can't report on snow conditions on 17, as, well, we got a little distracted :D

No Pics. But 6 miles to the snow. Not very deep but too dense to ride through.
