So it's not just me. Miller is a incredible facility in a shitty location. The layout is virtually flat, the surrounding countryside is a bunch of sheep farms and the soil (incredibly fine and dusty when dry and incredibly thick and gooey when wet) really plays havoc with the machinery after an off-track excursion. I wish Road America had the same kind of $$$ to throw at improvements. A WSBK or MotoGP race there would be epic.

How many hundreds of millions is COTA spending to build its facility? What tiny fraction of that would be required to get Road America up to code?

I'd much rather go to Laguna to see WSBK than MotoGP.

Kawasaki took over Times Sq yesterday and look who I bumped into, fellow Brit, Tom Sykes. Had a long chat with him about his Kawa and last weeks crazy events at Nurburgring. He was a real gentleman :clap

Yessssss. As soon as ALMS and Grand Am announced their merger I knew this would happen. Laguna has limited days for no sound limits, now there's a free one for WSBK.

I completely disagree about miller being a terrible spectator track. I've been there three times for WSBK, and its great. Just need to buy a parking spot behind the gate/ past the free parking area. Park wherever you wanted. I had a reserved spot at the attitudes. Ride your bike around, walk everywhere.

Dome of my best race action photos are from there.

Miller staff and the people of SLC couldn't have been nicer or friendlier. Hotel prices are reasonable and some of the best back drops you could ask for.

I love the place and yes I've been to laquna.

To each his own. Give me Road America, Road Atlanta, or Laguna. Won't hurt my feelings if I never see Miller again.

Finally got done with all my weekend jobs around the house yesterday. Grabbed a drink and went to watch WSBK at Portimao which my DVR SHOULD have recorded.

    Nothing recorded. WTF?

No, because in Speed TV's infinite wisdom- the races will be shown starting at noon Tuesday. :confused

Of course when I scanned Speed's schedule for yesterday, there were so many more important shows that needed to be broadcast like at 6pm

6:00PM ET Dumbest Stuff on Wheels Motoring Morons, Cruising Cretins & Buseys

Then 3 HOURS of reporting on what has already happened.

7:00PM ET SPEED Center Motor Racing News

8:00PM ET NASCAR Victory Lane New Hampshire

9:00PM ET Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain

Guess unless it has Budweiser on the hood and it only makes left turns for 99.99% of the season, it gets shuffled back into the infomercial filler schedule.

    I HATE SPEEDTV

And to make it even worse, Speed couldn't care less if you hate them. There is apparently an infinite supply of bubbas for them to cater to.

GP1 is reporting that the Panigale will not carry the extra 6 kilos of weight next year that this year's Ducs have had to.

I was under the impression the extra weight was because they won the championship last year? :ear
