Called Knapps in Prescott for a price on a bike. He said large dealers whining about small guys. Yamaha is not renewing alot of the small dealers. 40 years of Yamaha sales in Prescott dropped. .

BMW as well. They started getting rid of their small dealers in the '70's. In '76, I burnt an exhaust valve on a cross-country trip. I was in White River at the time and the closest "authorized dealer" was in the Soo. The local "dealer" in the Soo was an electrician at Algoma Steel. He owned an R90/S and was an "authorized dealer", and became one so he could get the BMW specialized tools. We replaced the valve and lapped it in, in his breezeway. That was his "shop".

Didn't make it out yesterday. Made up for it today. 200 kms, possibly a record for us at this time of year.

Despite the harsh winter, I managed to ride in all 12 months this year. *

This is a brief video compilation from some of my trips, both long and short.

PS. In the Facebook versions I used Don Henley's 'Boys of Summer', poking some gentle fun at those who put their bikes away far to early. Unfortunately Youtube made me redact it, hence the schlock used here.
