Two spy shots have surfaced showing a new motorcycle-styled vehicle being developed by Canadian ATV and snowmobile maker Bombardier. The Bombardier vehicle, known as the Spyder, has two front wheels and one rear wheel which allows for motorcycle-like ride with improved stability. The vehicle is expected to be launched officially on February 9th. Gallery after the jump…

The vehicle features a Rotax 1000cc, 60 degree water-cooled V-twin engine, which will produce about 130 horsepower. The gearbox appears to use a traditional foot-operated changing system, but some reports had suggested a CVT gearbox will be used.

Other features spied by the photographers include electronic stability control and ABS braking systems. The motorcycle is designed to be street legal. Further, the 'trike' might only require a regular 'car' license in some countries such as the United States.

The vehicle is targeted to ship this summer in the States, with a European launch by next summer. More details are expected to follow soon.

Cool. I always thought Bombardier would make a come back into motorcycles. Whe the rumors of the Can-am comming back surfaced I expected dirt bike, but It turned out to be just the name on an ATV. Although that 3 wheeler isn,t exactly a motorcycle, it could be interesting.

Sure looks like it. They must be making sure the suspension will handle the robust crowd.

    I like it.

Weird that Killboy was the photographer.

I wonder if they tested it at Deals Gap.

The motor sounds fantastic, now if they can just get rid of one of those front wheels.

The Spyder is the bike/trike for those bikers who have been injured/impaired and can't ride 2 wheelers anymore.

There should be more of them being designed and built.

Our injured mates have the right to still be on the road without becoming detainees in 4 wheeled cages.

    Ditto on the weight/suspension.

You'd think they just find the perfect pudgy pillion person, and do away with the weights?

I see satin jackets onboard soon, and lots of Gold Wing trade-ins...

I believe they were simulating a 258lb retiree grandma from Wisconsin.

I don't think it will attract too many GW converts. I didn't see any cup holders.

According to yesterday's NY Times- it goes on sale (between $15-16.5k) in a number of US states (those with good mc populations it seems) in a couple of months.
