The title says it all. I did a search and found no thread for the new 70 degree Husaberg Motors, so here it is! Lets make this an everything 70 Degree thread, pics, video, questions, problems, parts info, you name it, I want to find it here. I'd start us off with a pic of my new Berg but I take delivery tomorrow. I'll post one later this week. In the mean time, I'll start. Here are a few links to some aftermarket parts. http://www.driveonit.com/120511/Husaberg-Skid-plate one of the only people that make aluminum skid plates for the new Bergs. http://www.hyderacing.com/store/dirtbike/husaberg.htm Hyde Racing make a bunch of carbon parts for the new Bergs and the older ones too. https://pirieperfprod.com/Home_Page.html here is a link to P3 Pirie Performance Products they make quality carbon stuff for bikes including a nice head guard for the Bergs. so who's got a 70 degree Berg and wants to talk about it?
a fair amount in this thread also: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472604 it's about the big motor but i think beyong the motor size the 390 & 450 are mostly the same.
Here's my plated FE450 right before leaving for CO this year: Heading up Block & Tackle: On top of American Flag Mountain: Laurel Hill State Park: This past Sunday: I love this bike, wouldn't trade it for anything.
Not a berg owner but I would love one. anyway here is a new approach to fuel tanks and a damn fine one at that! http://www.70degreeracing.com/index.html On the berg forums in KTM a lot of guys like this tank. This guy went through hell to get it made and selling them for roughly 400. BTW subscribed!
I have a 70 degree tank on my 570. It works very well. The OEM pump doesn't pull all of the fuel out of the OEM tank. When the 70 degree tank is added the problem is compounded some. I think that about 1/2 gal is unreachable with the setup as sold. I might try to make some changes so I can get more fuel out. The rear vent hose runs up to the main tank. I pulled the ball out of my gas cap so both tanks breath. That has helped keep the fuel levels even in both tanks. I am not sure if I will put one on my 390. It depends on how I use it.
Thanks, it was still pretty in the first pic. But after dropping it in CO a few times and at home even more, it's got a scratch or two on it now.
The price has gone up - $50 IIRC. Still worth it IMO. I heard a rumor that Husaberg may offer it in their 'hard parts' catalog. The only thing you really give up with this tank is the handholds, which aren't very good any way - a tugger strap is the remedy.
How do you like the Safari tank? I've been thinking of getting that one over the subframe tank. Need to get some greater range before heading back to CO next year.
sitting in the garage as i type. can't ride sunday and they forgot i to have the MSO notorized so it'll be next week before i can get a tag for it but i'm hoping to take it out to brown or brushy mtn. on saturday. i've been busy i've only got 1 pic so far but will see if i can get a cpl more tomorrow and post them.
nice pics! can you post a link to where you got/found the safari tank? how much does it hold and what kinda range does it provide? i had the 13 ltr. tank on my KTM 450 and definitely noticed the tank width particularly when i wore my CTI knee braces. you say you don't notice the safari tank, is it really no wider in the knee area when you stand and no wider in the knee's when you're sitting? thanks for any info/feedback you've got. i'm gonna use mine as a dual sport and need to add range over what the stock tank will offer so i'm very curious about all the options.
The tank can be found new on e-bay....4.2 gallons total...it is a piggy back system....maybe 3/4" wider at the knees.... bike gets 30-35 mpg in the dirt X 4.2....
Justgastanks.com is probably a better source than Ebay. I am pretty sure they have an additional discount for ADVriders, check in Vendors. http://www.justgastanks.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_6_130
