2012 Old's Cool Spring Rally May 11-13

I decided to leave the R1100RT at home today and ride up on the fast bike.

I have turned the ride into a 6 hour twisty course to the beer tonight.

Can't make this one..

Change of plans........dead battery on the XS650 so won't be there tonight for dinner of breakfast in the morning. Still planning on riding over tomorrow on the Hawk GT for a visit.

I think this is the most I have seen at the Old's Cool Rally. Great dinner. Battery died on the way up; but there is a Walmart in Waynesville. Guess I know where I am going tomorrow. The Parkway was devoid of Rangers today; bet it will nto be that way tomorrow.

Nice day for ride, so I made Cruso Nc. my destination. Upon arrival, the BMC was like a ghost town. I was thirsty so rode in to Waynesville for a bit and when I returned, look who showed up! "You meet the nicest people on a Honda".

Looks like I wasn't the only one to just show up for a short visit this afternoon.

Back in the "Church". Yesterday up US276 from Brevard to Cruso, not a single car. Just two good friends on motorcycles, like we have been doing since our teens. The R100RS just purred in the cool air. You have to love an old boxer with cold air intake and good gas.

A good gathering of good people... and good food. It was great to talk to the folks I saw, and dang it, I want to meet everyone sooner or later.

Trip home on the Parkway... again, all mine. Overcast, so the old Kalichrome lenses made the sky clear for miles.

Rolled into the garage. Elroy, the house mutt, was glad to see me. The Audi TT awaits for packing. By nightfall, Folly Beach SC for a weeks vacation.

What a great way to start a Vacation!
