    i just picked up a 01 f650.

pretty much in pieces and definitely not complete.

got a frame (clean title but neck's bent), engine (working) with throttle body, complete wiring harness, oil tank, gas tank and some dr650 wheels. all for 500 big ones. if i was smart i would sell it all and make double my money but wheres the fun in that. i'm thinking of a budget f650 build. it'll need a lotta work but i figure if i post up here i can start getting a list of what i need together and build this bad boy.

first thing's first, anyone got a linky to the service manual?

Heyo, good luck with the project.

Pirated service manual links are frowned upon here (DAMHIK), so you're on your own for that one.

I'll be parting out an 06 shortly, so if you need anything that's compatible from that era, let me know.

You might want to learn a bit about what you have, hint it's not a Funduro. Wiki link.

Good luck with the build, the rotax lump is very reliable.

Keep me posted. I got something in the works but I need a backup plan

Yea. Since I partially own a BMW I guess I should get use to spending much money :D

Damn. I really liked the funduro name.

I'd buy a complete dirt bike (with the chain on the RHS) with a blown engine and throw that one in. An older KTM or something.

It is a great engine, probably the best thing about the F650.

Surprised I'm the first to say it, but visit www.f650.com and sign up for the forums there. Lots of guys with a LOT of knowledge about these bikes.

If that is not "Some Assembly Required" I don't know what is.

    Looks like a good project.
