Nice ... I like that it's a big plane & durable. $300 is pricey but maybe it'd be a good step up after I've got the basics down on a smaller unit.

A friend at work offered me his Aerostar 40 ... yeah, I could probably crash that :lol3

I just picked up RF7. Should save me some money in the long run. :lol3
It is definitely helping learn all the different orientations for heli flying. I laugh when in Hover Training every time the heli explodes.
Would there be any advantage using my DX7s over just using the Interlink controller?

Damn this thing is nice! Makes the Blade 300X I had look like a mall kiosk heli!! hahaa... Nothing but carbon and aluminum as far as the eye can see. No slop. This thing looks brand new. Dude said it had six flights and I believe it!!

Have to go through the IconX FBL controller tonight and get it all set up. I've got 9 batteries so I should be good to go!

Four. I've bound two of them to my DX7. The gear switch works for turning the stabilizing off & on as advertized. That also activates the gear channel on the rx at the same time, so you could potentially have the stabilizing come on when you drop the flaps or landing gear. Myself, I'd rather have it independent.

What I haven't figured out is how to get anything to happen with the 6th channel, labelled "AUX" on the rx. Either from the flap switch or the Aux2 knob on the DX7. Nothing. I haven't given up yet, haven't had much time to mess with it either.

I stuck one of them in this old toy to try it out before I risk one of my scratch builds. Perhaps the fact that it's a flying wing with elevon mixing has something to do with it, but I don't see how.

Interestingly, elevon mixing isn't done with the transmitter when using this rx. Instead, it's set for standard elevator & aileron, and you have to flip one of the little dip-switches on the rx to do mixing there. Different, but it works. It would be the same way for elevator & rudder on a V-tail.

After a couple of flights, I like it. It's cool to be able to flip the stabilizing off & on in flight. You can try a maneuver with it off, then turn it on and try again to see the difference. No worries about getting the gains dialed in just right. If it acts funny, just switch it off and land.

Now if I could just figure out that extra channel. I want to put one in my big camera-carrying delta and use the extra channel for camera tilt.

You'll have it figured out long before me....we're sitting on a foot of snow and single digit temps for a few more days....then it's going to be 50. WTF.
