That's a great looking bike! I've been wondering about the XR suspension, and yours is the first I've seen with it. Any idea what you want to get out of it, or when you want to sell? I may be interested.

Here's an older picture of my FXR-SP. I've cleaned it a bit with a solo saddle and such...I'll get some new shots this spring. Great bike, best Harley ever... :deal

I believe the FXR is to now, what the Switchback will be to 10 years from now. :deal

The switchback is really just a RoadQueen, it's too much a garbage wagon. the FXR's are more simple and elemental
More about riding and less about looks, less being relative since it's a HDMoCo.

If anything will be the new FXR it will be the FXDX but it's been around long enough that if it was going to be the new FXR it would already have become that.

"Looks" and "is" are not the same thing. I like dyna glides too but the Low Rider frame is not the same, and it doesn't look the same. It's heavier and not as rigid as the FXR, the brakes on the new bikes are better than the old FXR's but the suspension is not improved at all. Other than that... :lol3

On balance, yes if HD built a new FXR with an actual FXR frame and a 103" TC driveline at the same weight as my old '89 FXR I'd be the first in line at my dealer. :deal

My uncle has a FXRT with the trans out of it. I think I should give him a call.

I like the 94 I had was a nice ride, but I didn't trust the electrics for extended trips, and that Evo engine was just showing its age. This is the only FXR I'd own, and I'd have to put it together myself:

I bought an '89 FXRS-Sp new and rode it for 22 years before selling it. I kept it around for a couple years after I bought my '00 FXDX just to be sure I was making the right choice when I sold it. The DX is more comfortable, (with the DXT seat) and I believe it handles as good as the FXR and it has a little more power. I bought the DX as I was hoping to take a few long trips that never materialized. Had I known that, I may have just kept the FXR. The FXR was lighter and a better "around town bike" but not as comfortable on the highway. I miss it around town but overall, my old fat ass appreciates the comfort of the DX. Tough to beat an Evo.

A lot of people would get in line. I haven't met as many hd guys who are fans of one model as the FXR crowd, apart from Sportster lovers.

The FXR was a great model and building one with the 103 would be a great decision.
    IMO. :D

that would be nice, a little less rake, get some suspenders under the beast... I like that X-wedge, that would serve very well..
