    Folks,

I'm looking to buy a Kymco Agility 125 this evening. The bike is in great shape, but I have one question. The guy told me the odometer (15K) reads in kilometers, so the actual mileage is about 9500 miles. Is that true for a US spec bike?

    Thanks,

That was true as of the last time I talked to my dealer who handles Kymco.

    Cool. Thanks.

Hey, after I buy this thing, I'm going to post my "Hey Scooter People" rant on Craigslist. Should be funny.

Look for a "km" on the odometer (and speedometer) and/or estimate distance and speed on your test ride.
If your speedo tells "90", it is most likely km/h.

Thanks. The big outer numbers on the speedo are km/hr. The smaller inner numbers are miles/hr. I didn't see anything near the odo, but I'll look again tonight when I pick it up.

My 09 Kymco Super 8 ODO is in miles but earlier years where in Kms. What year is the Agility 125 you're looking at?

2009. Interesting. Is your outer ring mph or kph?

Thanks. Based on my study of two scooters, I'll bet the outer ring = the speedo.

I considered getting an Agility but at 6-2 and 34" inseam I didn't fit. After owning my Super 8 for 14 months and 4800 miles I would recommend a Kymco to anyone interested in a scooter. Good luck, I hope the Agility works out for you.

lots of scooters from manufacturers in other countries are like this, here in the uk/ireland anyway.

i have had two peugeot (french) scooters which have a mph speedometer but the odometer still reads in km's.

probably all they do to ready the bike for export to a mph country is stick a mph face over the speedo. this has the speed markings in different places relevant to mph speeds but doesnt change the fact that the odo mechanism reads in kms.

I don't think my fellow Americans quite get that.:rofl:lol3:wink:
Mine '08 Agility is in KM, and the speedo is way optimistic. Like 15-20 mph off.:deal

yeah mine has been good as well. 9000 miles and holding tough. haven't had a chance to change the tires on my Agility, as when time came for replacing I bought two "new' (barely used) OEM's for $30, total. couldn't beat that deal with a stick but as they wear they do get....interesting in corners thanks to the weird profile. 32in inseam here, btw. and yeah those two inches on a scoot can be a make or break difference when push comes to shove for some taller folks

belt and rollers at 6000m just for shits and giggles, haven't touched the front brake yet, change my own filters, do my own oil changes. no spark plug change yet (wait for 10K), battery still works, lights, valves have not been touched since 4000m if they were touched then. again, 10K service and they will get another peek. scoot rides solid, switch gear is still intact. and i hit those switches / buttons HARD. seems a tough scooter, heard the '06's and 07's may have had some issues with QC, though. at least those bound for the states

i like this now $1800 scooter. lowest priced 125cc in the country and worth every single penny imo. live with it for awhile and discover its worth that much in fun alone :)

I loved mine, did 13k miles on it in 2 years, and other then dangerous OEM tires
it's been a great ride. Wish I had a big garage, I'd keep it with my new scoot,
    but it has to go..

    Hey Agility 125 Guys,

Is there a repair manual posted online anywhere? Is there an Agility 125 forum?

    Thanks,

There is a Kymco forum which has a section dedicated to the agility 125. Not nearly as active as this forum but I have found some useful information there: http://www.kymcoforum.com/
