There are companies that will sell the barn door sliding slides. I used rustica hardware. They were pretty easy to work with. They will also sell you the metal rack .. but I had mine made by a welder. 3 inch stock x 3/8 inch. You can measure the room and can make one long piece rather than two pieces that you will have to put together. I think it looks better as one and it really works well. The doors I found on CL. They came out of an office building . Heavy / fire rated doors. Good luck
Not a grand opening but just serving coffee ,donuts and bagels to those who want to come by. 9851 E Casitas del Rio Scottsdale AZ 85255. Give me an idea if you are coming over. First pour at 7AM- last cup poured 11AM
Texas T announced this. I'm close so I'll try to make it. We are redoing the house, so I hope I can,.
Work is still progressing. We demo 25 ft of block wall filled with gout and rebar. It has been a long time since I've swung a 12 lb sledge hammer around We filled the pit with the pieces and then had a crunch party. We a rotary hammer but we couldn't get the footer's to break up. We reserved a jack hammer for Thrus.
nothing special. bagels, donuts and coffee. don't expect a clean garage.. just a place to hang out for a few hours.
We are ready for the concrete pour on the driveway. 6 guys were here most of the day leveling out the drive. Since we are pour a complete drive (6000 ft) we are doing it in two parts. Part one is from the street to the new garage. Like most pours we have to wait 2-3 weeks before it is hard enough to drive on. The contractor said I could drive a motorcycle on it in 3 days. The upper right side we deepen and increased the angle of the swell. We are hoping to get enough rock to line the sides. We have had a few heavy rain storms and I was out looking at how the water flowed toward the bottom. The middle left is where water from the upper driveway will exit. We are embedding drain tubes there. The trench in the middle of the drive is for storm drainage. 3 pieces of 3 inch schedule 40 pipe will be under the concrete. One of the pipes will house the low voltage wiring and landscaping lines to the other side of the driveway. You can see the swell on the bottom of the picture. The concrete slab has a 3 degree pitch to drain rain water. That is a known 50 yr floor area. The garage is build 2 feet above that. We have been dragging a piece of fencing behind my ATV to make sure there is a deep enough swell. Task 2: My wife suggested that the yard would really open up if we take down all the wall between the new walls. You have to understand if she makes a comment like this you do it. She was right and the yard really opened up. The rear yard fence two months ago to now. The columns are in for the 16th deck beam. The decking will start this weekend. The clear space between the retaining walls and orgin. backyard wall will be closed off this weekend. Task 3: I decided to move the air compressor to the middle of the work area. Now the hose can easily be taken out to both lifts. Will take pictures of that in the morning
Did anyone show for coffee on Saturday? If so, we request a report from those parties! Looking good... I've been quietly following your progress all along...
6 riders from cave creek showed up for coffee, donuts and bagel with cream cheese. Today, we poured the first third of the driveway (21 yards of mud), 2nd pour will be 30 yds and final will be 55 yds. Smoothing out the driveway we went with the exposed aggregate look, They sprayed sugar water on top of the concrete to un-bond the mud on top. drainage is working 4-5 inches of mud ..
must be hard work,be a pretty stiff mix i would imagine to stop too much slump(so it wont run downhill too much) hard to move around.Whats the daytime temps at this time of year?
I just retired to my home in Anthem AZ ( I-17 and Cave Creek) and I would love to see this work of art in person.! What may I ask is going to occupy the 'cave" besides yourself ?
2 worktables , 2 take down tables two lifts and lots of parts .. 6 bikes..Come on over for coffee 602-502-6360 2nd pour was finished today. Pictures of the inside mess. Need this weekend to move things around. The R90S is coming home on Friday.
pretty happy with the driveway .. We are looking on how to border the drive ( stone, back fill , pavers) Now we have another 60 yards to pour.. Thanks
The third pour of the front half. 16 yards total and we had more than enough concrete to do the turn out also. It is the best driveway I ever owned. Wish I had a skate board! We started with junction pour connecting to the pour last Wed. The forman of the concrete company was here today and said this one of the best pours he has seen this year. The joints were crisp and they didn't use a lot of water to smooth ( to much water will crack) He was impress with a 6 man crew. We had two extra yards when we finished the pour. We were going to pour a turn out next week but since we had a hot load to use they built a frame and poured .. with some to spare. New bike 75 R90S
