    All,
i have been thinking of stitching up my own Giant Loop style bags. I have access to industrial sewing machine. Any idea what spec material goes into the trucker tarp type material that Giant Loop, Ortleib or Wolfman make their stuff out of?

Most awning shops have a suitable material ask for 14-16oz vinyl tarp material. I should advise you though, just sewing up a bag with this stuff, it will still leak at the seams. You need to seal the seams. this is done with a sealing machine. This is where your efforts will cost you more than just going out and buying a properly made bag from a manufacturer.

Holy cow! The tech shop idea is cool. I wish there was one close to where I lived. I have lots of my own tools but to have a shop you could just go to for the specialized stuff would be awesome!
