Oh look, it was raining when that picture was taken. It never rains at the RDV! We should start holding these things in drought stricken areas. The two years I've camped are the two years that rain of biblical proportions have shown up. Starbucks for the Boss, cause I've got too much shit to do.
That was not just rain, that was a monsoon that night (I "bailed" the tent ) And why do you think I booked a place with a big indoor area and a lot of covered porches? (I would hate for folks to eat their jambalaya hiding under tarps)
You guys must have a drinking problem. I don't remember any rain. This year if you "think it's raining", just remember to catch up with your drinking, etc.!! btw, I just bought an EXC300 for the trail ride. Anybody know if the 2 strokes are as simple to get plated in NC as the 4 stroke EXC's? (Hope I don't have to get creative...)
Bingo. I know David down at Sportcycle KTM in Maryville told me years ago that all you had to do was show that the dealer "made" the dirt bike street legal and then it could be street titled. Don't know if it's still the same or not but he sold a whole bunch of motards. In TN you need a headlight, taillight, working brake light visible to 50', and a left mirror.
It has a "Certificate of Origin" which does not say "off road use only". I think that is what the other non-street 4 stroke KTMs come with, and they sound simple to get plated. If NC doesn't work, I'm sure TN will be happy to sell me a title. It already has a headlight & brake light, so all I should need is a speedometer, horn, and mirror. I think a $10 bicycle speedo from Walmart or ebay should work fine. A universal horn & a decent mirror and I think the parts bill should be only about $50 to pass inspection.
If you get a TN title first you don't have to get it inspected when you title in NC. You get a year pass then have to get it done when you renew the plate. It sucks now that we have to get bikes inspected....
