I'd say it weighs considerably less than that at this point. I hope they build it though.

Anda, anda...... Tírate de la motoooo.....

I've been looking for a 348 trail for years..... I'll believe this when I see it.... But definitely will not buy a bike without a seat.

I don't have a lot of use for a trials bike with a seat, but it'd make the perfect technical-trails bike for someone not in a hurry - for that matter it'd make a good technical trail bike for my wife. I hope they build it and would personally get all hot and bothered if they did a competition-level, light, 6spd, two-stroke off road bike with DI. :evil Still waiting for someone to make a two stroke that's better than my '01 CR. Some of the pumpkin bikes are close I think, but not enough difference to make the change.

that is a "rendering" ie not a real picture, computer generated.

Ossa might be out of business, (slight chance) already,
they needed investors to keep going, investors expect "guarantee" so they (ossa) applied to the city/country the plant is in, for guarantee. Nobody has said anymore yet about how that is going?

sure, could be seen 2 ways, they could just move and be ok, in this case just trying to get more "help" when just about every country is sick and tired of helping the super rich investors make guaranteed moneys...

Or they need money/investors badly to stay open?

Marc Colmer left, (all my above is from the "web" so dont have a cow on me). It was uncertain if it was salary issues? they said personal reasons.
It dont take much to "bet" it was becuase possibly (even if slight and a guess on my part) about getting paid, and or seeking employment with a future in his opinion?

I would love to see that company keep going, and produce those bikes, but Ill be damned if Warren Buffett and his ilk should be "guaranteed" that they wont lose money investing in the company. :thumb

I mean shit, I could use a deal like that, for a company I'd like to start, sheesh.

This isnt supposed to be a politcal rant, just a finance rant,

Make it street legal, rack on the rear fender, easy to ride trails and momma can go on a dual sport ride with boys.

I just did some checking around on prices. The OSSA site says that the Explorer will be 5,900 Euros. I'm surprised that it would be less than the trials version.

The 2011 OSSA TR280i trials bike sells for 6,640 Euros. It's $8495 here in the States.

The math would indicate that the Explorer would be ~ $7548.

It isnt TOO hard to believe, some of the TRIALS specific stuff, (extra lightweight) parts are probably pricey, compared to "normal" bike parts, which can probably be sourced cheaper, I imagine?

with the "rendering" we dont know much about what part is where.

In the press release it also hinted at a future "Enduro" model - maybe a new Pioneer?

The old Ossa Explorer was the Mick Andrews Replica trials bike with a bigger fuel tank and more padded seat so the next logical step would be to recreate the Super Pioneer model and make it more of a dual purpose bike.

Still got the 1972 Pioneer I bought new.... would love to add one of these to the garage.

Think of how many man-hours are in the welding for that expansion chamber alone! Although truthfully it is probably done by robot.
