The last four years it's been held at the convention center in Ft. Worth. Prior to that it was in the Dallas area. I've been 7 out of the last 10 years. It's gotten progressively smaller with fewer major manufacturers on hand. The last time I went was in 08 and H-D, KTM, and the Japanese were the only new bikes on display. Lots of aftermarket vendors. And the great thing was being able to try on new helmets, jackets, etc without having some sales geek leaning over you shoulder.

And the delightful young ladies stationed around the place to answer questions, point out where something was located, and just plain looking good.

Yeah I did, but leave the Viagra at home. They're unobtainable.

Same here. And I've got an all day drive coming up in just a few hours. :rofl

So I'm trolling on the m/c sites reading the same ol' news all over again. And occasionally reading a Jack Reacher novel when the net get too boring.

Headed to Houston to see my Mom and Uncle Tommy. Both of 'em in real bad health so I try and get the visits in as often as I can. It's just a long, boring drive to get there.
On the plus side, there'll be lots of food and I ain't gotta cook.

    Everyone coming to your house?

Lots of food is always a good thing! I agree about seeing them as often as possible, life is too damn short,.

Yeah we have T Day at my house, I was just thinking how small our Thanksgivings are now. It's basically just my parents, my family and my wifes dad. The only other family I have is my sis in CO. We used to have such big Thanksgivings at my grandparents farm in MO, seems odd now to me having our own.

Oh and if anyone is looking for a Super Tenere I saw one on Bill's showroom today. Its the first one i've been able to really check out. It still hasnt grown on me, it looks like a big fragile bike to me, seems like there is lots of stuff to break that needs protection. I'm not fond of the big metal fuel tank either.

2000 and it's turned into a stator nibbler (I hope), more than 1500 miles now since the last one.

Have ya seen the new Triumph Explorer? I'm impressed with it. 135hp, 89 lbs of torque, 950 watt alternator. And about 4K less than a GS. Initial reviews coming are are good, but I'm waiting on a more long term test.
Paul at Adventure Motorcycle Magazine is testing a Super T right now. He's good to put it through the paces and deliver an honest opinion on the machine.
So far the Tiger and the XR will have to do duty for me. I'm ready for warm weather.
    Speaking of warmer weather...
Peter Peitz and I are taking a week in the hill country in March. Anyone wanna come along? We're renting a cabin at Fox Fire Cabins and will have room. We haven't decided whether to take the DS bikes or road bikes. Either way we're gonna pass a good time.
