Pick your poison Julio. Either hot desert in SoCal, Arizona and northwest Mainland Mex, or hot desert in Baja. :lol3 There really is no good way to avoid the heat. At least its cooler than it was in September. :D

with gas prices shooting up to $5/gallon right now, you might want to sneak over to Nevada and Az as quick as you can!

Late October/ early November is usually pretty nice in the low deserts.

I just rode the Baja Last week not to hot or unbearable It is cooling off..... 94 degrees today in La Paz... My opinion is that the Baja is a much more attractive way to head south and the Ferry is always a Adventure ...I had a boring ride north from Alamos, Sonora... I think the worst leg on my recent trip in Mexico.....Just my 2 cent's worth....John

currently on the road, but I call Tassie home
If you stay in the mountains of the mainland it's really not that hot. And the roads are twisty and fun. The only time I have melted is when I head to the coast. Enjoy the ride

You are right about that Deb , but I have been all over the northern mountains already ; there are still lots of nice places to see there, but still...I've never been in Baja.
I've been many times to Oaxaca and we always rent the same efficiency apartment there(home cooking:evil:evil) If you are interested I can send you the link

Julio, just be advised: http://www.score-international.com/...RUN_CLICK_HERE_FOR_RACE_INFORMATION/2012.aspx Pre-running has started.

The week leading up to the race and during the race, places to stay and gas can be hard to come by. However, that said, if youre there for the race its a great time. The race is going through Gonzaga and Coco's this year so if you get there a few days early, camping on the beach at La Beluga in Gonzaga is hard to beat. San Francisquito is another great camping option, but there's not really much there when you run out of supplies.

Heck, I might even ride down with you if I'm around.
