I'm taking my neighbor for a ride. Poor bastage lost most of both feet this summer and hasn't had his Harley out this year. I'm taking him to PA for a burger and a run down rt.666.

FYI, when we were in the Tionesta area in Aug on the way back from New England, Rt 666 was closed mid way or so. It was apparently washed out in the spring rains.

Not sure if they have reopened it yet..

It was "closed" (in 2 places) last time I was through .:evil. Through being the operative word. Road was mostly gone, but enough for a bike.

If I had been on my VStrom, I would have tried it. But since we were two-up on the Goldwing, pulling a stinking trailer, I decided to pass.

We changed destination. May be too much riding for him at this point.

We are going to roll around the CV and have lunch in Peninsula or something like that.

If anyone wants to join the parade we are rolling around 830.

We may stop for a latte ...

Those fucking Harley guys always have some lame ass excuse for why they aren't able to ride.

"Ooo, it's raining". "Ooo, that ride goes into XXX state, they have helmet laws". "Ooo, my feet got amputated".

    Jesus, those guys are lame.

Oh, lame! That was totally unplanned!

    :lol3 I see you've met my neighbor.

He is the classic HD guy, no doubt. Over all he is a good guy with some unfortunate demographically challenged tendencies. He has lived in the same spot for 35+ years and has a pretty narrow spectrum of influences. Losing his bits and pieces really woke him up. He thinks it is nuts to ride a "dirt bike " hundreds of miles, rain, sleet, whatever, to take a picture of a motorcycle next to a headstone or a snow plow. I am really just trying to expose him to a little more of the planet, but ultimately I don't know if it really matters at this point.

I used to think I could expand the cultural horizons of my acquaintances by showing them picture of where I'd been, what I'd done, etc. but now I realize if they can't bring themselves to get off the couch to change a channel, then how can they get off of their mental couch to change their mind? I'm just hoping that taking him on roads he's never ridden, and eating food he's never tasted, might positively (IMHO) influence his path. I know these things (and several people here - ADV) have helped me be more positive and motivated.

Red Pill/ Blue Pill? Some people just aren't ready to wake up, and maybe some just shouldn't, but I'd rather ere on the side of optimistic romanticism than just roll by and let him rot. Either way I get to ride my motorcycle and that is good.

    too early ? :*sip*
