With hope my jaunt to Hamilton on Tuesday nets me a new rear carcas to prey on.

Go steal one of your buddies MX bikes. It'll have tires on it. That and a box of screws is a good start.

Looking for 19 and 20 inch slicks for fronts and 17 and 18 inch slicks for rear. If we use old knobbies we need someone with tire lathe. I think I could turn out some pretty good stuff with some practice and a ship load of screws. Looks like aprox 250 for screws and about 150 for tires. My guess is Jordan smokes a set a season. With a little TLC I bet a set lasts me 3 years(we'll see).

I need to upload some pics of my current state but I think I'll hold off until the rear is in process.

Is this old KX still available? It could make someone a great deathtrap. I could probably bone up a set of beginner tires out of a set of dirts I have layin around. All we'd need is a bucket of gold screws. They were great for limiting terminal speed. I don't even think there is anything to break on that one.

The closest lake here has between 12 and 14 inches of ice...the ice road is already plowed!

I tried that about 30 yrs ago. Lost lots of skin putting all the screws in. The bike broke partway through the ice once and that ended that. Pretty good traction though..

Does it have to be an mx bike? Not sure if I want to take the dakar. I was going to buy a beater but ended up buying an excel supermoto setup
    Merry Christmas to me:clap

I do have an Ascot sitting in the shop. A little tough to start in the cold, but I think I could find some 18" knobbies that would fit it and stud them up. Not alot of suspension on it but it is kind of a flat track style beast.
    What do you think ?

Go for it. Search Ice Racing screws on ebay. If your not using liners get 5/8 screws max 500 front/1000 rear. Otherwise you'll have a pin cushion on the inside.
