Seriously, I would assume it's full speed ahead since the shakedown earlier this month. No news in the daily rag.
I think some folks believe you have some big inside scoop besides the newspaper. Bernie's paying you to drum up interest isn't he.
this morning's local news showed what mike posted. said 400+ people are onsite every day working on grandstand/track/and pit areas.
gonna seat 120K. http://www.statesman.com/sports/formula1/austin-firm-pushes-to-finish-f1-track-work-2099095.html
Lame. $100 for a deposit on an unknown seat that I'll have to pay hundreds more for later. General admission will work for me.
Hundreds? As I understood it, it was a $100 deposit for the ability to buy a seat license for $1000-5000! By comparison, we paid about $850 for two covered seats at Monza in 2003. Already have my hotel booked, just need tickets...I'll be waiting for the GA tickets as well.
Ah, even worse. I misread the announcement to say that the 100 got you on the list to buy actual TICKETS, not a PSL. Screw that shit. I'll be mucking it up with the other commoners on a grassy berm somewhere.
I paid the $100 for the first indy GP, it worked out brilliantly (for them). I ended up shelling out $275 / seat for each and every seat I bought for the first, second and third times I attended. They called me each time and talked me through the purchase. First time, great seats on the start / finish line. Second time, I was literally afraid of heights, as we were at the TOP of the rickety ass grand stands just down the first straight from the start / finish. Third time, a turn in the mid-course...which was prominently featured in the news coverage of fans going ape-shit about the tire debacle. I've got my rooms booked for Montreal and tickets purchased. F1 in Austin....not really interested.
