ADV Riders in Chile

Thought it might be a good thing to have a thread for chilean ADV riders to find each other and for fellow ADV riders going through Chile to get Chile specific information from Chilean Inmates.

Hope to be able to get together an interesting bunch of people and loads of information for people who need it.

I myselfe am living in southern Chile Temuco/Pucon Area and am always happy to help out if it is in my Power to do so and if no help is needed I am always happy to have a few beers.

Ayer volví de un corto viaje a Austria, Alemania y Suiza. Hermosos países. Por supuesto me hice un tiempito para visitar Mattighofen y conocer la casa matriz de KTM.

en cuanto se mejore mi pie, de un accidente en Moto que tuve en enero y me puedo subir nuevamente a mi moto quiero conocer la ruta de Los Angeles, via Ralco a Lonquimay, Paso Icalma, Melipeuco, Cunco, Currarehue a Pucon y vuelta a Temuco/Los Angeles - sera uno de mis primeros viajes que quiero hacer un fds. hasta ahora no se si se puede pasar entre la reserva nacional Ralco y la RN Nalcas. tal vez tienes mas informacion.

Hey Martyn,
i might pick u up on the getting drunk part - am planning for march/april to go to San Pedro de Atacama along the Cordillera useing as many passes as possible between Chile and Argentina - getting up there in 10 days and then maybe 2 days to drive down to get back to work in time. all together 14 days.
When ever you get down south give me a shout, during the week i am in Temuco and weekends Pucon with my GF

Great thread!

I have ridden a KTM950 from Santiago to TDF to BA.
I am wondering if any of you guys would be interested in chasing the Dakar Rally this Jan?
I would rent a KTM990 in Santiago.
We need a person or persons that are very able to get us in the real "outback" to see some of the stages. This is not so easy without local knowledge or help.

Any ideas? Interested parties?

I was out last weekend exploring a few routes, but in my pickup.

I got about 60 km out of Ralco climbing up the Alto Bio Bio when I hit ice and snow and had to turn back.

But I tallked to a few locals who told me that by mid October it should be no problem to get through on a bike to Lonquimay.

So I will plan a circle tour from Los Angeles up to Ralco, Lonquimay and back maybe through Temuco for some weekend in Oct or November with good weather.

But first I have to go back to Santiago and pick up my GS, maybe on Fiestas Patrias weekend.

Soy un amante de ADVRIDER y aventurero del Norte de Chile (Ovalle) con una BMW F650 Dakar 2005 (Perla Blue).

Trato de salir lo que mas puedo, siempre que la pega me lo permita, pero definitivamente empezare a salir mas, sobre todo al Sur, asi que Bernhard espero ir a verte pronto.

En estos momentos estoy de viaje de negocios en China hasta el 11 de Septiembre, por si alguien aparece por Ovalle.

Me encanataria programar una visita a Ovalle de los que mas puedan ir. Yo organizo todo, les digo cuanto sale y listo. Hay rutas y lugares muy lindos para visitar.
