No, Not the i am aware of. It will always appear backwards when you look at the top of the tyre.

I think it has to do with the fact that it is Down Under.

This discussion re front tyre tread has been rehearsed before (not sure if here though). Many tyre brands have the tread in this direction for front tyres as it is the front that does most of the stopping/braking ... rear the drive ... hence opposite tread patterns.

Bought them used for a smoking deal.

They are very hevily built and really not that much louder, but definitely have a bass rumble that is sweet.

Took about 18 months but now she runs and rides great. I still need to rig up a catch can for the oil breather and I've got an annoying leak from the oil pan that I haven't had time to sort out yet.

Coming from you that's a compliment. I patterned the mono shock from your build. But my welding skills are no were near yours. Mine looks like globbed glue next to your work. Thank God powder coating hides a lot of sins.

Thanks sparky. I was following your build thread as well for ideas. If I were to do it again I would elevate the rear of the center shock on the swing arm another of couple of inches to rotate the dampner on the front of the shock away from the air box eliminator plate. As it stands the dampner just clears the eliminator plate by maybe a 1/4".

Question for you as well as Sparky: What is the advantage of this very cool custom center-mount monoshock?
Just wondering if it is simply for style, weight savings, performance, just to be different, or just to point out to someone like me that I can't build one. (Because I know I can't for sure!)
It appears to make the otherwise-retro bike appear more high tech, like combining café-type styling with street fighter. But then you went with drum brakes, which can't be because you wanted it to look old school, because monoshock. So the drums front and back are for a simple look? Maybe you should tell us a short story of why you built the bike the way you did. Unless you have a build thread? If so I'd like to see it.

For me I was collecting a bunch of airhead pieces and parts that I either had to get rid of or build something out of it. I saw sparky and hoffbrau's build threads and thought it would be cool to have an old school cafe with some modern refinments. It was more of a challange for me just to see if I could do it. As I said earlier, this bike will never see a track day. I just wanted something different.

If I were going for performance I would gone for a different front end and lighter components. For now I'm just having fun on it.
