An 1K Ironbutt was on my list of things to do this summer.

After knocking out 750 miles in a day last year, getting off the bike and feeling fresh as a daisy, I thought I'd give it a go.

I had a route planned out which was all within the state of Az., but i can't find the damn screen shot I took off Google Maps now.

I also had a partial DS Ironbutt I had been pondering. :evil

A true 1000 mile dirt route would be quite the accomplishment. Logistics would be the most difficult portion. So who is up for the challenge?

Anybody up for a dual sport PHX./ Prescott to Laughlin over night then Laughlin to Barstow via Mojave Trail. Over night in Barstow, back to Laughlin, over night & home?

The PMRG, that's Phoenix Motorcycle Riders Group is doing a ride on April 14. Check 'em out. They're good people even though they like the pavement. Jim

Just a quick hello to all you Phoenix area ADV riders. I have been checking in from time to time, and wish I could join you on some of the rides in AZ. Sounds like lots of fun. ADV riding is not so popular here; but don't feel sorry for me! I've got 2 bikes registered, and a 3rd one on the way. Besides, this delightful mountain pass is just 5 km from my house.:D

And in a few months, when you think it is hot in AZ...just remember, it could be worse. :hair

Anytime up to the end of May as it gets pretty hot towards summer. The Mojave trail can be a little busy on the weekends so a weekday is better but whatever works for a group. Really need 150 mile fuel range for Mojave Trail to avoid going into Baker for fuel.

I was thinking of doing a more interesting route than just jumping on the interstate and back.

My route would hit up all the bordering AZ states (except for that tiny southwestern point of Colorado) :D.

    something like this:

    SOLD PENDING FUNDS

Hey all, spring cleaning and I hate to ship so I'm holding off on posting to classified. Hope I'm not breaking any rules.

Anyone here want a new Giantloop MoJavi™ Saddlebag? I'm thinking $150ish OBO. It was mounted but never ridden with.

A thousand miles of dirt that you can ride fast enough to finish in 24 hrs. Don't they have an occasional rally in Baja where they do that?

That would be a serious challenge.

You guys give me the dates & we will work it out. April 25th-29th are out as they have the Harley River run then. The Mojave preserve allows groups up to 5 with no permit needed., so I figure maybe 10 guys in two groups. Terry & the balls out group & my slow group bringing up the rear.

Is it really necessary to ride balls out with Terry? Cause I'm not tearing hole in my riding gear for just one ride.
