I just want to bump this one up. Hopefully I will be needing a few wheel spacers made in the near future if I get my ass in gear.
Funny timing. Need to have some custom wheel spacers made for this project. 5 on 112mm lug pattern, 10mm thick, with a 57.1mm bore on the spindle side and a 66.56mm snout on the wheel side. Can provide drawings with detailed dimensions, but it's pretty straightforward.
I kilt it Seriously though, somebody to convert a swingarm for me so I can use eye-to-eye shocks would be great. Plate and rack are taken care of.
Somebody who can make a shock clevis and weld it to a swingarm after grinding off the old eye, essentially, that's it. I send them a swingarm, they convert it. I can draw it up in AutoCAD or oldschool if need be. Or maybe take a crack at the Google Sketchup, haven't got to try that yet.
Even napkin sketches might help, just to give some of us an idea of whether or not we might be able to help you.
Shoot me a cad DXF,DWG,PDF,NS - and I can most likely take care of it. (NS - napkin sketch) PM me if you want to send me files or drawings.
I have years of experience in composites. All Fiberglass no CF. I made production molds for Cheetah Racing Bodies, sportbike bodywork for race and direct street replacement. Sort of like what Hotbodies and SharkSkinz (who I think ended up with my molds after we closed up) are doing. I've made hundreds of production molds from 2004-2008 for the 4 Jap manufacturers and now I'm making small runs of fairings for Rally Moto Kit. I can take on smaller parts, smaller runs, smaller volume just now, but I have a feeling I'll be available for larger production volume in a few months.... I also need some metal work done. Right now I have an oil cooler I designed for my bike. If you have some space in your work sched I'd like to talk to you about an inexpensive ( I know aren't we all) one or two off. I need to have it done certainly before August (for testing before Rally de Motos) and would like to have it in a few weeks if possible. Here's a pic. I have solidworks files and dimmed out drawings complete. If it would help I can probably do the CAM file for it also. http://advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=21641256&postcount=1488
Your oil cooler looks very similar to the one ABP make in Germany. http://www.abp-racing.de/ölkühler/ Might be easier to just buy em in?
I'm working on a fork conversion for my 99 Gas Gas EC 300 it uses 25mm ID X 52mm OD roller bearings. The Husqvarna forks/triple I want to use takes a 29mm ID X 50.25mm OD roller bearing. So far I have had no luck locating a roller bearing with a 29mm ID and 52mm OD. Is it feasible for someone to make me a shim/spacer from 50.25 to 52mm and 16mm wide?
Possible, but probably not practical unless you have friends with ID/OD grinding set ups. Any chance the Husqvarna part could be opened up to be able to use a thicker ('easier to make') wall spacer? OTOH, someone with lots of time and a tool post grinder on a lathe might be able to help you out.
Not to steal anyones work but is this the bearing you need? Timken L45449 (inner) Timken L45410 (outer) 29.000mm bore 50.292mm OD http://catalog.timken.com/WebProject.asp?CodeId=7.5.9.14&BookCode=trb12flx# It sort of works. Go to page 111 and 4th one up from the bottom.
Yes I believe that one would work out. Thanks for finding it. My laptop I use at home won't load the Timken catalog for some reason. Edit: The only problem I see with this combo is the inner is .58" wide and the outer .42" wide. Anyone have some input on this? I may swing over to the local bearing wholesaler tomorrow and see if they can help me out with it.
Look up Motion Industries and see if theres one local to you. I get all of my bearings from them. The one near me at least keeps a pretty good stock of stuff.
I jumped the gun on this one. What I need to find for a bearing is 29mm ID and 52mm OD. The bearing above would be the correct bearing for the Husky triples in the Husky frame. Thanks for the effort though!! Sent the local Motion Industries branch a email today, no response yet. It would be great if they could come up with something.
Another thought on this. I have found 30mm ID X 52mm OD bearings available. Is building a 29mm ID x 30mm OD spacer realistic? It sounds difficult to me. But what about buying .5mm shim stock and wrapping it around the steering stem before pushing the bearings on? What say the great minds of ADV And yes you guys are awesome
