I decided to go riding today. Its Monday. I dont have to work. Unfortunately I dont know a lot of people who can just go ride at the the drop of a hat on a Monday. I wont bore you with a lot of details. I rode up to Walker Valley on my XR and was going to play for a bit.

Riding by yourself is a love hate thing. When you are by yourself you have to be more careful than you would. An injury out in the sticks could be very dangerous. On the other hand you can go wherever your heart desires. here are the pics.

The Jam trail had a little water on/in it....

Heres get off #1....the rocky trail up to the Old Rock Quarry..

Beginning of the Coyote trail heading west to east.....

Some of the more technical/rooty sections of Coyote

Some sketchy/snowy/muddy singletrack with a 50 foot drop off to the left....

    More technical/rooty stuff
    [IMG]

Another get-off....as you notice the snow is getting deeper....as i crashed my left leg got pinned between the bike and a stump....If i wasnt wearing motox boots i woulda been injured...

    Where my leg got pinched...

    More snow/muck....Yee haw!!!

Ate shit again here...tough right handed switchback in a bunch of snow...man im getting tired of picking this thing up!!!!

Finally made it out to the trailhead....man im smoked.

At this point it is snowing pretty good and there is about a foot of snow ont he ground.....Fun...

About two or three miles down to the main road then home....

    Awesome day!

I'm still too big a n00b to go tooling off like that on the single track by myself, especially in the snow. Maybe I'm too pragmatic but it definitely looks like fun. I'd like to take my TLR up there for a day. :lol3

    Mike,
I have Monday's off and need to ride so keep that in mind. I'm sure GSH and Deano would be up for some of that Monday Walker Valley stuff. Be nice when the snow takes a hike!
Let us know on a Sunday if you are going next time!:deal

    Springs,

According to the weather forecast its not supposed to drop below freezing for the next week. Most of this week is suposed to be pretty nice sunny/50s. That should allow most of the snow to melt.

Perhaps next Monday could be "NORTH SOUND HOOKEY DAY!!!!"

    Dirtbikin followed by refreshments?????

A burger and brew at the big lake tavern really hits the spot after a walker valley ride. :D
