Track of Chihuahua city bypass

Any one have tracks for the Chihuahua city bypass for HWY 16.

Every time I go through downtown Chihuahua, I get lost and have a problem finding Hwy 16 to Ojinaga / Presidio.

i do the same thing.

See the attached track. I collected this on the way back from Creel to Presidio in January.

Easy to miss that exit ramp just around a curve...but its marked to Cuauhtemoc. Personally...I've never hit it the first time. I turn around at the same place every time, its a tradition now.

I'm curious as to why you take the toll road to Ojinaga. I've never done that. Is there an advantage?

I usually just use the base map to improvise a route. You know, enter on highway 16 and head in the direction of the highway 16 leaving in the desired direction. Usually works out fine.

It's faster and safer. With that said, the free road is fun and very few people actually ride the free road.

Interesting. When I've been there (Copper Canyon area) and met other riders I've asked about the toll road and never met anyone who had taken it. Guess it depends on what you are looking for.

I've taken the toll into Cuauhtemoc but usually choose the libre there also. I find it much more interesting AND there are more places to buy food.

In this particular case we were in a truck. I trashed my knee and skinny blew his CDI. We had to pay someone to haul us from Creel to Presidio.

We came in on 16 from Presidio, Ojinaga, to Chihuahua, you will see a sign that says 16 Libre (free) or 16 ?something (toll) take the Libre road, it was plenty fast, as you get closer to Chihuahua you will see a sign for fuel 2kms, go that way, get fuel you need some by now anyway, there is a unmarked road just this side of the Pemex station, it turns into a divided road that goes into Chihuahua,
take it into town (south).
At the first stoplight you will see a sign that says Airporto (airport)
take a left there and go east until the road Ts' in front of you,
take a right back south and go until the road T's in front of you again.
take a right back west until the road T's,
take a left (south) until the road T's,
take a right (west) until the road Ts' again (you will cross RR tracks)
take a final left (south)when the road Ts'.
you will be back on 16 headed South and will have avoided most of the traffic in Chihuahua. Kieth
