I am looking to purchase this 2005 XR650R from a guy in Arizona who stated that he purchased from someone in Tucson less than a year ago. Does anyone know who used to own this XR? The guy that currently owns it does not know much about it, and I have some questions. Thanks for your help.

    Don't know anyone there.

But I do know that it is the best motorcycle made.

Buy it, change the engine and fork oil and ride the dog shit out of it. :thumb

Sorry I dont know anything about that bike, but I also own a XR650R. I love it, you will also. My only complaint is that the Washington state DMV will not let me plate it.
    Enjoy it.

Seller states that it only has 1300 miles on it. Trying to verify that figure.

IMHO I wouldn't worry about the exact miles. From the photos it looks clean. I've had my 'old' XRR for almost ten years, it still runs like a champ. 500, 1300, 5000 miles, it really doesn't matter. Just buy it and buy a lot of rear tires...your going to need them. :thumb

Good luck with the new bike.

That's a good story, have another one?
    I know where there's a 2003 with 52 miles on it for $3800 if you're interested.

Looking at the clutch cover tells me more than 1300 miles.

    This one has 1200 miles.

Everything around the motor should look new. 1200 miles is very young for an XR.

I had an XR with 5000 miles, and the clutch cover looked alot like the bike your looking at. Good running bike will have smooth valvetrain, XR's are not really loud motors, it should pure and not tick.

Are those the stock forks with the boots removed? I was thinking about doing that and putting some Seal Savers in place.
