Found this 1981 CR 250 Left hand kick bike in pieces. I am starting to do a complete overall of the bike. This is what the bike looked like when i got it. This is what i am going for . This is what it looks like now. I am hoping to have it rolling on wheels by this weekend. Waiting on parts, and new tires.
Been a long week waiting for parts and powdercoating and polishing, but i almost have everything done. Got my tires today, so i mounted them and they are looking great. I wanted to stay as close as orginal, but i wanted to spice up the tires a little bit. So far this week, all i did was wait, but late today i started to put together the bike. This is what i have done so far.
I am getting closer, at least i have it rolling now. I am going to have to spend the week waiting on more parts.
That bike is looking sweet! Awesome work on bringing that poor CR back from the dead. Here's a short clip I took of a '81 CR at the Honda Museum: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6J0VzbURjjU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Reckon your bike could surpass this in beauty!
The problem i am having right now is finding OEM plastic. I have found aftermarket but no OEM. Not sure what i want to do on this problem.
i posted the add that i found on ADV through craiglist. Really a nice guy. I texted him about what i wanted to do. Cost me around 50 bucks shipped to my door. Pretty easy to put on. Took me around an hour to do both wheels.
I will find out some more info for you. I know that he ships world wide. I think he has a facebook page.
