the hitting isn't being negated by good pitching- our hitters have just been horrendous, even against not so good pitching.

what? nothing you've quoted in what i said is in conflict with anything else- maybe you need to do a bit of re-reading?

you claimed that i said the good hitting would take them over the top (which i didn't say), and i'm saying they've been hitting poorly.

i'm really not sure what you're getting at...

Congrats to the Detroit Tigers. They really put a lickin' on us and their trip to the World Series is well deserved.

Hats off to the Yanks for a great season.

Swept by the Tigers, it's time to reflect and heal from the worst post season in my memory.

Good luck to Detroit in the World Series.

The Yankees hit just .157 in the four-game ALCS and .188 in their nine-game postseason run.

All the best to Derek Jeter on his surgery tomorrow and subsequent recuperation over the next 4-5 months.

If I were a Yankee fan, Jeter getting broken is what I would be most bummed about. Even as a Yankee disliker, I do admire the career he's had and the job he does. I hope his recovery is quick and he comes back as strong as ever.

Opening day is April 1st.............Boston @ New York.

The lineups for both teams could be interesting.

Jeter is swinging the lumber and taking some ground balls............ready for Spring Training.
