Well, my little mate welded a large lever to the pin (welded both sides of the hole) and we worried away, but just ended fatiguing the pin off.
![]() So, I'm hunting for a metal disintegrator just over the border tomorrow, and if I can't find one (or if they charge too much) I'll simply be looking for a replacement. This is the last roll of the dice for this caliper.

I had this very same problem last summer. I tried welding the brake pads to the pin to use as levers, but they would just bend. I settled with drilling the pin out and using a nut and bolt. worked like a charm.

I was nursing that idea myself See-Three, but I have found a solution.
![]() An ex-local in here put me on to a workshop that employs a guy who rode trials in the same club I used to be in, and I took it out to show him. He has a metal disintegrator/spark eroder but said it is slow, old hat now, and expensive, then went on to say he can fix it fairly cheaply with his milling machine. So I get it back next week - yay! I'd like to thank you all for your time and suggestions, it is much appreciated. This place contains the best folks around for sure.
