Old Skool Honda's, Lets see them!

Lets see the Old Skool Honda's!! Here's my 1984 VF700S "Sabre". I've been riding her for 11yrs now and she has 104K miles on the clock. I wouldn't be afraid to ride this bike from Home (Ohio) to California and back. In 90K miles the only Oil I have ran is Castrol GTX 10W-40 and have adjusted the valves about every 5K miles.

I had one of these and miss it.

My CBX 750 FE, this is basically a nighthawk sports tourer with more power. I love this bike, it surprises a lot of things. Taken it to Northern Ireland, my only out of Scotland trip on a bike. Its tatty, smokes when pushed (so all the time then) it gets ignored and pointed at in ridicule (then I spank them on the roads they stop laughing then). I got it with 45k its 51k now which isn't bad for a years use where it was snowed in for about 4 months and only getting to use it maybe twice a month. Bought as a none runner on ebay for £250, the guy I got it from had never heard it run neither did its previous owner.



My first VF750F, I went to look at this with a mate and I bought it then he bought it off me before we got home I rode it for a bit, then he took it out crashed it twice in the same journey. I then fixed it and it was given to another friend who still uses it. In fact I done a major service on it just over 2 weeks ago



Next up my white/primer/blue VF750F. I got this cheap, how cheap? £130. Non runner guy had used it years ago (1995) then pulled it apart to rebuild it all. He basically gave up though and couldn't time the engine. I timed the engine and lapped in the valves so it got compression. I then put that engine into another Vf (in a minute, patience) which my sister used and was fine until it rattled and seized 2 weeks ago.



The next VF750F I got was in a trade deal. I swapped a road legal but done in Chinese 125 for this AND a VFR400R. Not bad for a £170 125 . My sister now has this. When I went to look at it there was no carbs and no starter. The guy said it ran then cut out he cranked it until the starter burnt out so he threw the starter away and then threw the carbs away! I know retard. Thats why I put the engine from the white/blue vf into this bike. That is ubntil it seized after 2k or so miles. I put the original engine back in after checking it all out and its a hell of a lot faster than the other engine. My sister was rammed off it in a hit and run the weekend before last but its built up (the joys of a spares bike)



The VFR400R NC21 86/87 I cannae mind. Anyway this is the bike I got along with the black and red vf in the 125 swap. Its tiny, I want it away as its too small for me and some have expressed interest in it for track days, I just wish they would make their minds up. It needs work, but it starts and runs fine, just stuff like indicators, new fork seals (got them here) etc to get it on the road. This is the best picture I have of it



Finally my CBR1000F 1987 vintage, I got this with 2 months tax and 8 months MOT on it. I haggled the guy down to £400 as it was running on 3 cylinders and missing some trim. The reason it was running on 3 was that one of the follower guides was bent pressing against the valve spring cap holding the valve open. Sorted out easily enough.



And that concludes my old school Honda collection.

I had a 1985 VF700F similar to this one. I loved that bike also, wish I hadn't sold it

Seeing if I can get this old girl to run again; 1983 GL1100 Aspencade...some rust on the frame, left side camshaft is cracked in half. Gunk in the rear valves and some kind of gunk on the cyclinder sleeves...

1963 Dream.



I've got about $500 into it so far. Just need some mufflers, foot peg rubbers and a gas cap and this thing is set. What a hoot.
