I Quit my job today, I'm tired of my life here, I think I will ride to Panama, then Colombia, then Brazil...

I do not plan to return home, I have some ideas and we will see where I end up.

Tijuana? Honduras? Colombia and Venezuela!? As P. J. O'Rourke put it "How would your mother feel if she knew
you were doing this? She'd cry. She really would. And that's how you know it's fun. Anything that makes your
mother cry is fun. Sigmund Freud wrote all about this. It's a well-known fact."

I have a motorcycle, a couple of passports, a wad of cash and I speak Spanish. I will
leave March 5th, bomb down the Pacific Coast on Highway 1/101 from Bellingham, WA, to Tijuana where I will spend a couple nights with my good buddy Joel. "You can sleep in the trailer out back dude, if it starts moving at night its because the Mexicans are stealing it!" Then I will ride to Panama and devise a way to cross the Darien Gap in the cheapest way possible.

I heard Colombia is really bad ass with a Motorcycle, I heard Venezuela has really cheap gas, and I heard Brazil
is very large (large=lots of riding). I plan to spend a lot of time in those three countires.

Here is my first couple of photos if you want to see my set up.

    3. If you end up in Tijuana, it's because something bad happenned.

    3. I don't see any pics?

    4. I don't count very well, (maybe that's why I don't ahve a job)

That doesn't sound like a bad idea, I've been following Radiomans thread and it looks like there some fantastic places to call home in S.America... My wife and I half jokingly talk about selling out and heading that way ourselves and lately we've been talking about it more and more... I will follow this thread to see what kind of paradise you discover down there...

Sounds like you have all the planning you need for a little adventure. I highly recommend Peru and Bolivia as well a making a loop through the Guianas if you have the time.

That Portuguese dictionary will come in very handy until you can start sleeping with one. :lol3

    Boa viagem!

Yes. From one Northwesterner who fled south to another, expect free room and beer in Manzanillo midway down the pacific coast of Mexico. Shoot me a PM a day or two before you come through. Safe riding and enjoy!

Following along. I love Bham...rode my Vespa up there last summer from San Diego, and it's currently in heated storage in Ferndale waiting for the next segment of my trip.

Ride safe, and enjoy the trip!

Nice. Love the idea. Wish I would have done it when I was young.

How old are you if you care to share? No obligations in life yet it seems, so I am assuming younger.

I don't know that I could stay down south and be that far from family, but I sure have thought about it.

Two ways to travel: go with the flow or check-list. We remember years later the things that pierced our senses.
