The DT-1 wasn't the worlds first dual purpose bike. I owned one and my friend had one of these. It was as good a street bike and a better dirt bike. The first DT-1 handled terribly over whoops and a kit was sold that lowered the engine about 2 inches by altering the frame.

Me on the DT-1. Both shocks broke the bottom mounts off upon landing.

There was a time when this was considered to be a dirt bike.

After 17 pages.....I was thinking this bike the whole time. This is exactly the same year amd model of my first bike. And I think it is beautiful!

By the way it did work very well on the road which always suprised me being a small 2 stoke and all.

    Hello FloridaSteve,
I think, they are - or were in their days.
I proved it with my 1981 Triumph Tiger Trail, even today they do it, for example, with the Triumph Scrambler (take a look at that thread). I even did it with a Suzuki GN 400 TD, a road-version of the old Suzuki DR/SP 400. But I won't show this bike here, that doesn't fit to the theme.
But I'll try my Trail, hope it works!
    Kind regards, Bambi
PS: Steve, could it be possible, that you saw my mis-use of the term 'sucks' in the Africa Twin-thread? I'm so sorry about that! And remembering this thread, I think, that Stormforce´s A-Twins should be shown here, too ...
