Hi Guys, Just a heads up. There's a DR750 on Aussie ebay (nothing to do with me)and it looks pretty good at a bargain price. Check out item number 320554265159. Happy bidding, Simon.
Hey Ausibatla, hope you dont mind but I just shared your photobucket album in the Argentinean DR BIG club page on facebook.. we all appreciate a nice project
Yeah I'm watching it closely have spoken with the owner and placed a bid on it just watchin and waiting to see what happens with bid wise. I do know of some else thats keen on it so I have to watch my back .
As far as I know sr/41 750 and sr/42 800 are the same but different for the mounting near rear brake pedal for the slave cylinder. SR/43 late 91 onwards 800 is WAY different to others much heavier braced frame .
Simon, I'm not buying an orange seat cover. I can't buy the original black seat cover with the original SUZUKI in orange on the side. They only (custom make) them with white lettering, so I decided to do my own. I'm going up to Osbourne Park on Monday to look at some orange vinyl and if the colour's close enough I'll buy a meter and have it covered then paint SUZUKI on the side in white myself. Cheers.
Don't stress though, I've done the numbers and without selling my V-Strom first, I can't push the price up that much. btw If you get it, I'm happy to help you with collection and transport etc.
Thanks Tony for the assistance if I win it but I would truely love the 750 you used to have. There is some history with bike that I'd love that sitting in my shed. Now if I could track down Paul Wright's old 750 Safari bike that would be cool.
I'm with you on that one. Mine was cool cos it has the factory kit, but Paul Wright's was in another league. It must be out there............ somewhere....... I've been told my old one is still in existance, but I've yet to track it down. I'd be happy with a stock one for day to day use though. Which reminds me, I'll have another go at tracking my old one down next week for you.
Thanks Tony but don't spend too time much looking. I'm sure you have better things to do. I will put out some feelers for contact details for Paul Wright and see if anyone responds.
Hi, Greetings from the Czech Republic is my sr 42 old and ugly colors. The new design will be soon. PS: sorry for my English, I use Google Translate <img src="http://img.motorkari.cz/upload/images/databaze/2009-10/160017.jpg?94201" border="0" alt="" width="682" height="455"/>
*ssttreeettcchh* oh its good to be back Been a bit busy recently guys but ive managed to bolt some more kit on the big... The rallye fairing is now mounted securely , just need to make some infill fairing peices and get the whole thing sprayed. Im thinking red bull colourscheme??? Also a braking 4 pot billet caliper was acquired and bolted on, it meant i could ditch the crummy wr standard brake and the adaptor bracket.. keep things simpler :) Also replaced the moto master 320mm disc with a braking one... mainly because i just like braking gear really.... brakes are now massively improved to say the least! Also added neoprene fork guards and hard pannier mounts to replace the riky cross soft pannier carriers. last addition was some bigger footpegs for more comfort over long distance enduros.
Zdeněk its great seeing a BIG getting down n dirty. vilguy the BIGs looking hot mate, but i think you need to go for a ride with Zdeněk and get some mud on her.
I'm trying to track down this sweeeeeeeeet old girl :huh Was used in the Australian Safari (was called Wynns Safari back in the early days) so I'm hoping a few more calls and I might finally track it down. Have spoken the rider - original owner in this photo ( Paul Wright ) and has said this beast is still out there.
Welcome Zdenek whats wrong with blue. Vilguy, now you have no ABS with the gap filled in and all one colour she will look smick mate.
Brendan, A worthy cause. That's a lovely machine and certainly worth restoring/riding. I'd love to have it. The rear tanks are a very nice addition. What else is "special" on that machine?
Brendan, what's that black bar on the rear end for? Hope you find it. If anyone's got I need a cam and rockers for my big....
