damned Garmin unlock codes
I bought a new Quest and it came with City select v6
I have a Garmin V with Metroguide V5 now that I have installed the quest I cannot download maps to my V even if I select the Metroguide maps damn thing tells me I do not have unlock codes for this GPS (the V) WTF - I leave on a ride in 7 hours and I got no damn GPS now because Gamrin is afraid I actually sue what I already bought and no, of course I do not have my original CD that probably would made this an easy problem to solve. damn damn damn

My boss (the owner) tells me that I am not smart enough to run the rental department.
Guess where it went from there. He can't spell "impact" and he sells them...

Hey Mut, I found the original box for the V and everything that came with it. Do you want it all?

I bought a used GPS a while back and was able to obtain a second unlock code so I could use a single mapsource product to down load to both units. The unlock code was free for the second unit.

You'll need to get an additional unlock code for the V. I believe you are allowed to use two units with the maps but will need the additional unlock codes. Having said that, you should be able to use your old Metroguide with the V ok but need to select it as the current map-set in Mapsource (upper left box on Mapsource tool bar.

Mut, call Garmin. A couple people above have pointed out that you can get another code. I was surprised, the couple times I've called, they were reasonably helpful. You legitimately own 2 products, so you shouldn't be getting screwed like this.

I had the same problem. Turns out Garmin accidentally assigned the City Navigator codes to City Select maps on a whole series of new discs. Just call them and they will give you a new code.
