Question Transalp hoppah

Can't afford a newer KLR or KTM, but I just got my hands on a cheap Transalp, low miles, runs strong, hardly even wrecked (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). Will this work for an ADV ride?

Trannies are great. Plastics tend to get destroyed, though,
so don't spend a lot of money tarting them up. Replace plastic
'bash plate' with a decent bit of aluminium wide enough to
protect the whole underside of the engine. Add some bark busters.
That's it!
