Local route advice

Three of us old guys from Canada are going to be wandering around Washington the first week in Sept. I have a pretty interesting route planned so far down as far as Granite Falls. From there, we want to get down to Rainier Park from the East side.

Can anyone give me some interesting routes from Granite Falls to Rainier Park? I would like to stay off of the freeways as much as possible. Good gravel roads are ok.

We are looking forward to this trip. There is some beautiful country in Washington.

This is two lane paved except for about 10 miles of I-90:

Woods Creek road from granite falls to Monroe.
State 203 from monroe to preston at I-90
I-90 west to Issaquah
South thru Iss. to Iss. -hobart road to Hobart
Hobart to Ravensdale on Iss. - Ravens. road.
Left at the store in Ravensdale, continue to wye, go rt. on Retreat -Kanaskat rd
At railroad overcrossing to right, cross over and continue to the town of Cumberland
At cumberland, continue through to hwy 410 at enumclaw
Go left on 410 and follow it to Rainier. You will go through Greenwater on the way, it's the last fuel opportunity for quite a while.

There are ways to make this even more difficult, but I thought this was a good start

If you're not in a rush, a nice easy side trip would be Snoqualamie Falls about ten minutes east of Fall City off state 203.

Here is a good route eliminating I-90. All paved.
