My 82' is slightly modified... It started out as an exhaust+rejet+sprocket and somehow turned into a street cub. Fun little ride

No, mine is still missing bits so I have been embarrassed to post them but I got some that I could post, if I figure out how. I don't have a photobucket account or anything but I might be able to put them in a FB album and go from there.

Ok this is a photo test, if it works you will see my invention, I call it The Cleveland Steamer!. Its a pot with a hose going to a piece of PVC pipe. I built it for seaming sections of wood for my kayak project. Due too life being life this 15ft kayak has taken longer to build then Noha's Ark, and she is still under construction.

This one is one of my uncles on a tour with the C70

Its the best shot of the actual bike.

I don't know who this guy is, must be one of my parents friends.

Since these pics I have done some carb work and put new tires on it with a rim respoke. she has 7000kms and some surface rust. The fairing is somewhere in a shed of yard sale items. I suppose when they sell enough stuff to find it they will bring it back to me.

sorry for the multiple posts, I thought we were going to watch a move and just when I think we are ready something would come up, ahem kids!, that gave me more time look for pictures to post.

Just dragged my yellow '82 (26,000 kms) out of my dad's shed and brought it home. Last run about 5 years ago when I rode it 70 kms round trip to work every day. Transmission needs help (gets stuck in gear) and cosmetic assistance but it was "running great when parked". Just picked up a NOS Honda muffler for it too.

I am still trying to get off my buttocks and get the paper work in so I can get the title to mine. I want one good trip before the snow, maybe I will get one of those snowmo-cycle kits for it this year lol, I seen them on a Google search it turns the rear wheel into a track, seen them for atvs but not motorcycles.

Congrats! Now get out and ride while you can. The weather here has been poor lately. I haven't ridden my C70 in weeks :

This thread is awesome. Anyone still reading? I've been riding an '81 red Passport for several years now and it's gone through hell and back. In fact I plan on taking it on a three day beach trip at Kalaloch Campground here in Washington next week (8/2014). Will be meeting my girlfriend and taking all my camping goodies!

Au Contraire, mon freir...

There is quite a bit of love out there for the Passport/Cub. Gore-TX has a big 'ol thread showing his odyssey getting a new SuperCub 110. Underboning has an epic thread about his journey around the world on a Symba (technically it's a Cub--up until 2003 SYM made Super Cubs for Honda) RedArrow recently discovered the joys of off-road Cubs with her CT110.

I myself was going to get a Passport until this deal with the Symba came up. What tipped the scales in favor of the SYM was that I could more easily convince my wife (AKA the Minister of Finance) that the Symba could be used as a commuter and save a ton on fuel costs (my commute is 20 miles one way). Amazing what a difference 30cc's and a 4th gear make as well...

FWIW my ideal bike collection would include:
  • My 2010 Symba
  • A pristine, box stock 1983 C70 Passport (maybe I could get the wife into motorbiking with it...)
  • A 1968 or 1969 CM91 (first Cub 90)
  • A 1970-ish CT90 (without the snorkel air filter--aesthetic reasons)
  • A 1972 Yamaha U7E (Yamaha's answer to the C70--75cc 2-stroke, 3 speed and that shade of Burnt Orange just screams 1970s)

Now if there was some way to get them here I would like:
  • Honda CC110 Cross Cub (Japan)
  • Honda Super Dream Cub (Thailand, Vietnam) or EX-5(Malaysia)
  • Honda Pop 100 (Brazil)
  • Honda XRM125 (Philippines)
  • SYM Angela 110 (Vietnam)
  • Honda Wave 100 (Mexico)
  • Yamaha Mate (Japan, the shaft drive version)
There's probably a bunch more but these ones seem to stick out.
So there is quite a bit of love out there for the underbones out there.

Yeah, I'm always wanting that extra gear and a couple more CCs but my Passport manages the abuse quite well. Have you toured on your Sym yet? I've ridden a 2009 and it had all the lightweight benefits but so much more power!
