The top cargo plate/top case for the V-Stroms will be ready to go next week. The same aluminum cargo plate fits the V-Stroms, KLR, 1200GS, 1150GS, 1100GS (with different spacers and hardware bits for each) and it took a while to get them all designed to work with one plate, but it is finally done, and they will start rolling out one-by-one beginning next week. The F650GS/Dakar takes a different plate because it has to have that hole in the middle for key/seat latch access, but it is ready within a couple of weeks as well. I'm painfully late getting these top case systems out, but they are done right. Thanks for the patience.

In the photo above, it looks straight forward, use the same 4 bolts holding that billet rack on (assuming those bolts go through to lugs or a bracket on the subframe). The first few quick release plates will be ready in early December for final test, full production in late December.
Are the quick release plates finished? I don't see them on the website...TIA

Here are the pics of the V-Strom rear cargo plate and top case system. The 1550 (35 liter) case is shown. This same plate fits the 1200GS, 1150GS, 1100GS, & KLR 650, but the attach points & hardware changes a bit bike-to-bike. To answer the question above, I'll have the cargo plate-only option up on the web site in a few days.

The particular 1550 case shown is my prototyping case so it has some extra holes and no lock in the lid. Here are the pics....

I just installed my Caribou Cases this weekend. As I expected, everything fit perfect on the first try. Thanks Roger for doing a great job with fitment!

Pictures aren't that great, but at least you can see what they look like.

Yeah, yeah, yeah that's a 'Honda-pottamus', 'LeadWing', etc. in the background. So sue me. It's damn comfortable on 1000 mile days and it's blown away its share of sport bikes in the twisties.

The Pelican 1500 case on the back is just sitting there unfastened. I was experimenting with possible top cases. The Best Rest backrest is also unfastened. Will probably bolt it on the top case for SWMBO's comfort.

Here's how it attaches to the rack. That's a BMW electric socket on the right. It's bolted on to the frame. SWMBO's electric hookup.

Here's the bare rack. Hardly noticeable with bags off.

Bad front view shot, but as you can see, the Caribous are narrow.

The Twin Spark F650GS-Dakar rear top case systems and cargo plates are now available (Single Spark coming soon). Solid mounting hardware, aircraft aluminum plate 15" x 12", Quick Attach/Release mechanism on the case that has a key lock, there is the key lock integrated in the lid of the cases of course, Cut-out allows access/removal of seat latch plate, available with 35 liter (1550) Pelican/Caribou case. Here are the pics, please visit www.cariboucases.com for more info and to order. Thank you!

1550 (35 liter) size (please disregard the bungee holding the pathetically designed BMW tail section to the bike)...

1520 (25 liter) size... EDIT 2009: No Longer Available

Cargo plate (available seperately)....

I really like the looks of it. Now if you could insulate it, add a drain, it would be perfect for hauling refreshments!

Seriously though, will any of the cases that would fit as a top case hold a helmet? I would like to carry a spare helmet in case I come across that hitch hiker of our dreams...

Chris, if that hitch hiker you are dreaming about is wearing green eyeshadow, and is standing on the corner of Main St. in Rock Springs Wyoming DON'T PICK HER UP! Learn from my mistakes.

None of the Pelican cases will hold a helmet.
