I demoed one last weekend and thought it would make a great adv bike but, there are no bag options. Are you thinking of building a setup for this bike?

Someone asked to see the new 1200GS/Adventure brackets-only. No cases mounted. Here you go....
Since we could no longer use both bolt locations up on the subframe near the rear of the seat (due to the Adventure tail rack using the same bolt), we had to add strength to the top rail by tying the top rail section into the passenger foot peg with a front rail section. There is also a bracket that ties the rear crossbar to the rear subframe up under the rear fender, adding more strength. ![]() ![]() This photo shows the mounting points, one at the passenger foot peg, one frame tube clamp about 3/4 up the front rail section, one subframe bolt up near the rear seat area, and finally the bracket you can't see up under the rear fender. It is very solid. ![]() Big thanks to John down in TX for the pics.

Roger, that would be me. Thanks for doing that. Unfortunately the adventure model I have (Australian) has a completely different rack on the rear, standard issue still. This would obviously affect the mounting of your frame.
Thanks anyway. Pete

The reason we did a 1200GS re-design was to accomodate the Adventure model rear rack. No problem fitting the Caribou system shown above to the 1200 Adventure model now.

These 1600s look great! I wonder how easy they'd be to scrape during hard road cornering on a V-Strom.

Any plans for the KTM 990 adventure? I'm sure the market is there.

The problem with the XR, and the DR, is that few people are going to spend $700+ for hard cases for these bikes, and I really need to sell at least 50 systems to make it worthwhile. My DR650 loaner bike deal fell through because the fellow was not interested due to price (respectful of the nice guy with the DR, he was certainly very good about it). What I think is needed is a $500 system for the XR, DR, DRZ, KTM 640. It is a real cost challenge.
